For a recent awards night, Sanya Malhotra chose a black taffeta silk gown by Aisha Rao, shaped through a fitted bodice and a voluminous full skirt. Taking to Instagram, the designer’s official page shared stunning photos of the Bollywood actress in the embellished outfit.

The standout feature was the ‘Sunflair’ appliqué-embellished tulle bodice, intricately detailed with floral motifs in soft pinks, lilacs and muted greens, layered over a sheer base that added dimension and texture. The delicate spaghetti straps and gently scooped neckline framed the upper body, while the appliqués radiated outward in a sunburst-like formation, creating a sculpted effect at the waist.

In contrast, the black taffeta satin skirt brought dramatic volume, its rich sheen and structured folds lending the look a regal, evening-ready presence. The interplay between the ornate, lightweight tulle bodice and the weightier silk skirt gave the gown depth and movement.
Accessories were kept refined to complement the intricacy of the outfit. Sanya Malhotra wore earrings from The Line HQ, a delicate diamond neckpiece from Nornament, and statement rings from Jewelsaga Jaipur and Raj Diamonds, all adding sparkle without distracting from the outfit’s craftsmanship.
