Indian actress Malavika Mohanan has mastered the art of making ethnic wear feel both timeless and distinctly her own. Her fashion choices frequently move between sculptural contemporary silhouettes and romantic ethnic ensembles, with sarees occupying a particularly strong place in her wardrobe. She gravitates towards graceful drapes, interesting textures and statement jewellery while rarely allowing the styling to become overwhelming. Whether experimenting with bold colours or embracing an understated palette, Malavika brings an effortless sensuality to her looks. This ivory-white saree moment captured that balance beautifully, pairing delicate craftsmanship with relaxed elegance.

The sheer drape came adorned with tiny floral embellishments, lending the fabric a delicate three-dimensional texture. Its border was considerably more ornate, featuring intricate floral and foliage embroidery with shimmering gota patti, beads and sequins. The design has been identified as the label’s Waterway Saree, with embroidery inspired by the movement of a forest waterfall. The translucent fabric allowed the craftsmanship to stand out without making the ensemble appear heavy.

Malavika Mohanan paired the saree with a simple ivory sleeveless blouse featuring a low, softly curved neckline. Its pared-back construction worked as the perfect counterpoint to the elaborate border. Draped traditionally over one shoulder, the sheer pallu revealed the blouse beneath while the tiny embroidered motifs continued across its length. The softly flowing saree pooled gracefully around her feet in the seated photographs, adding to its romantic quality.
The accessories introduced a striking antique-inspired contrast. Her oxidised silver-toned jhumka earrings were from Sangeeta Boochra, while her statement ring was credited to Tribe Amrapali. She stacked one wrist with chunky stone-studded bangles from Karishma Joolry and Bespoke Ozels. Her footwear was credited to Fizzy Goblet and was only partially visible beneath the drape.
Malavika Mohanan kept her long brunette hair open in voluminous, side-parted waves that cascaded over one shoulder. Her makeup remained warm and softly glamorous, with defined brows, kohl-rimmed eyes, mascara, subtle brown eyeshadow, a naturally luminous base and muted neutral-pink lips. A tiny black bindi provided the perfect finishing touch.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Malavika was last seen alongside Prabhas, Nidhhi Agerwal and Sanjay Dutt in ‘The Raja Saab’. Prior to this, she featured opposite Siddhanth Chaturvedi in ‘Yudhra’.
She can now be seen opposite Karthi in ‘Sardar 2’, which released in cinemas on Thursday (September 10). Malavika has ‘Pocket Novel’ in the pipeline.
