'Kill' Witnesses Growth On Day 2; Prabhas' 'Kalki 2898 AD' Goes Past Rs 450 Crore In India
Lakshya and Raghav Juyal's 'Kill' witnessed slight growth on Day 2 while Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan-starrer 'Kalki 2898 AD' has gone past the Rs 450 crore mark in India.

In the latest entertainment news, 'Kill', starring Lakshya and Raghav Juyal witnessed slight growth on Day 2 at the box office. In contrast, Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD', starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan, has surpassed the Rs 450 crore mark in India. Both films will now be looking to record further growth on Sunday at the box office.
As per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Kalki 2898 AD' minted Rs 34.45 crore on Saturday, the 10th day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 465 crore.
Out of this 34.45 crore on Saturday, Rs 18.5 crore came from the Hindi version, while the Telugu version contributed Rs 11 crore. The Tamil and Malayalam versions contributed Rs 3 crore and 1.50 crore, respectively. The Kannada version also contributed only Rs 0.45 crore, as per Sacnilk.
The Telugu total now stands at Rs 228.65 crore, while the Hindi version has so far collected Rs 190.40 crore.
Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is a mix of Hindu mythology set in a dystopian world where Amitabh Bachchan's character has made it his mission to save the unborn child of Deepika Padukone’s character. For the unversed, 'Kalki 2898 AD' also features cameos by Dulquer Salmaan, SS Rajamouli, Mrunal Thakur, Ram Gopal Varma, and Vijay Deverakonda.
Talking about 'Kill', the new Hindi movie minted Rs 1.90 crore on Saturday, the 2nd day of its release. The two-day nett domestic collection now stands at Rs 3.15 crore. On Saturday, 'Kill' had a Hindi occupancy of 19.92 per cent.
For the unversed, 'Kill' is directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga. The film held its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2023. Kill tells the story of army commando Amrit (portrayed by Lakshya) racing against time to rescue his beloved Tulika (played by Tanya Maniktala) from bandits.
Recently, production companies Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment also announced their plans to develop an English-language remake of the action thriller.
Lastly, it is important to mention that the release of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and 'Kill' has impacted the progress of other Indian movies such as ‘Chandu Champion’, ‘Munjya’, and ‘Jatt & Juliet 3’.
Sharvari Wagh and Abhay Verma's 'Munjya' minted Rs 0.65 crore on Saturday, the 30th day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 97.95 crore, as per Sacnilk.
