'Drishyam: The Conclusion' races past the Rs 200 crore mark in India.

'Drishyam: The Conclusion' is on the verge of surpassing the worldwide lifetime collection of its predecessor, giving Ajay Devgn another significant box office success. The third chapter of the popular crime-thriller franchise has maintained a strong run through its opening days, with audiences continuing to turn up in India as well as international markets. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, 'Drishyam 3' has accumulated around Rs 341.90 crore globally within its first five days. The film’s overseas performance has been particularly encouraging, contributing Rs 81.50 crore to the worldwide total, including Rs 9.50 crore on its first Tuesday.

The domestic market has also provided a strong foundation for the film. 'Drishyam 3' has recorded Rs 216.50 crore in nett India collections by the end of Day 5. Its wide theatrical release, spanning 82,299 shows, has helped the film maintain a substantial presence across centres. On Tuesday, the fifth day of its release, the Ajay Devgn-starrer earned Rs 19.50 crore, taking the total collection past the Rs 200 crore mark.

The film had begun its box office journey with an opening day collection of Rs 62 crore on October 2, and the first Saturday and Sunday fetched Rs 53.50 crore and Rs 61 crore, respectively. The first Monday witnessed a drop of more than 50 per cent as the film only earned Rs 21 crore.

The latest numbers put ‘Drishyam 3’ within touching distance of 'Drishyam 2', which concluded its theatrical run in 2022 with a worldwide gross of approximately Rs 342.31 crore. With the third film already sitting just below that mark, it is expected to move past its predecessor with relatively little additional business.

The film is also beginning to approach some of Ajay Devgn’s other notable worldwide performances. 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' finished with around Rs 361 crore globally, while 'Singham Again' recorded approximately Rs 372.41 crore worldwide. The pace of 'Drishyam 3' now puts both films within sight, although it remains to be seen how long the thriller can sustain its momentum.

Directed, co-written and produced by Abhishek Pathak, 'Drishyam 3' is backed by Panorama Studios and Star Studio18. The film brings back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav.

The latest installment also takes a distinct creative route with its conclusion. Unlike the Malayalam version of the franchise, directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Mohanlal, the Hindi film features a different ending, giving the Bollywood adaptation its own narrative identity.
