Here's when Karan Johar-directorial 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' will release in the theatres!
Fans need to wait a little more as Karan Johar's upcoming directorial ''Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' has been postponed. The movie which stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles was earlier slated to hit the big screen on April 28, but it will now release on July 28. The official announcement was made by Karan Johar on Instagram.
Sharing the new release date on Instagram, Karan Johar wrote: "They say ‘sabr ka phal meetha hota hai’, so to increase the mithaas of this incredibly special story - we're coming with a whole lot of love! Rocky aur Rani ke parivaar ho rahe hai taiyyaar, aur ab dekhiye yeh anokhi kahani of pyaar!#RockyAurRaniKiPremKahani in cinemas 28th July, 2023."

Earlier, Karan Johar's upcoming movie was slated to clash with Mani Ratnam’s much-anticipated film ‘PS-2’.
While ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ is a period drama, KJo’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, as the title suggests, is a romantic film.
‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ will star Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra.
Karan Johar's last directorial venture for the big screen was 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', which hit the theatres back in 2016. The movie starred Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan.
After that he helmed Netflix's anthologies 'Lust Stories' (2018) and 'Ghost Stories' (2020).
Earlier, Karan Johar had shared an update on Instagram regarding the release date of 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani'.
“After 7 years, it's time for me to return to my first home - the cinemas. I had the absolute honour of working with not one, but many illustrious actors on the set of my film. The familial nostalgic feeling of an ensemble cast, creating music that captivates the hearts and a story that runs deep to the roots of our family traditions. It's that time again -to huddle with your family and friends, buy popcorn and witness just sheer love and entertainment unfold on the big screen. We're overwhelmed and impatiently excited to finally inform...Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani in cinemas on April 28, 2023," he had posted.
