“Hadd Mein Rehna”: Zareen Khan Shuts Down Paparazzi Over Inappropriate Comment. Watch
Zareen Khan shut down paparazzi over an inappropriate remark at a Mumbai event, earning widespread praise online for firmly calling out the behaviour.
Bollywood actress Zareen Khan, best known for her roles in hit films like ‘Ready’, ‘Housefull 2’, and erotic thrillers like ‘Hate Story 3’, recently returned to the limelight after a brief hiatus. However, her Monday outing quickly turned sour. While attending the launch of a clothing brand in Mumbai, the actress firmly schooled the paparazzi after being subjected to a suggestive remark. As she showcased the brand’s new collection – which included a denim jacket and a dress – to the photographers present at the occasion, she was taken aback by an unexpected and lewd comment.
A paparazzo jokingly requested her to try on the outfit in front of them, saying, “Try kar ke dikhaiye na”. A visibly miffed Zareen immediately called out the behaviour, refusing to tolerate the remark. She snapped back, stating, “Tum logon ke saamne? Woh nahi ho raha.”
She further expressed her anger, demanding they mind their limits: "Faltugiri ki baatein nahi karna mere saath, because I am not the one who is gonna take that sh*t, okay? Hadd mein rehna, sab ke sab.”
Zareen Khan’s swift and no-nonsense reaction was captured in videos that quickly gained traction on social media, with netizens praising her for speaking up and calling out behaviour that crossed the line. Social media users firmly backed her, with one writing, “Fair enough! She is right.” Others echoed the sentiment, stating, “How can paps even speak like that?” and “She is right. They probably expected her to change there.” Another angered fan commented, “How can paps even speak like that. Get them arrested for indecency,” while one noted, “She talked legit. She did not lose her cool, you could not win her with your utter nonsense.”
The event marked a rare appearance for the Bollywood actress, who has been on an acting sabbatical for the past five years. Addressing her break from films, Zareen revealed the tragic personal circumstances that kept her away. “My mother was very unwell, and most of my attention was focused on taking care of her because she was all I had in my life. She passed away in April,” she shared. Her mother, Parveen Khan, died at the age of 65 after a prolonged illness. “Naturally, I couldn't concentrate on anything else during that time,” Zareen added.
Looking ahead, she is hopeful about exploring the streaming space. “Unfortunately, nothing much is happening on the big screen, but the web space is very interesting. There's a lot of great content being made for OTT platforms, and I would love to be part of projects that allow me to showcase my potential rather than just presenting me as another pretty face,” the actress said.
Zareen originally made her Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan in Anil Sharma's 2010 action epic ‘Veer’, a story written by her co-star. Though the film failed to perform well at the box office and she was frequently compared to Katrina Kaif, she quickly bounced back. In 2011, she featured alongside Salman in the wildly popular dance song ‘Character Dheela’ in Anees Bazmee's romantic comedy ‘Ready’. She was then cast opposite Riteish Deshmukh in Sajid Khan's 2012 hit comedy ‘Housefull 2’.
Over the years, she expanded her repertoire, appearing in the 2014 Punjabi film ‘Jatt James Bond’, and playing the lead in Vishal Pandya's 2015 erotic crime thriller ‘Hate Story 3’. She was also the leading lady in Anant Mahadevan's 2017 erotic crime thriller ‘Aksar 2’ (a sequel to his 2006 hit ‘Aksar’), and starred in Vikram Bhatt's 2018 horror film ‘1921’, the fourth installment in his ‘1920’ franchise.
She was last seen in Harish Vyas' film ‘Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele’, which released on JioHotstar in 2021. The film featured Anshuman Jha in the lead role alongside her, supported by Ravi Khanvilkar, Gurfateh Pirzada, and Nitin Sharma.
