The ongoing debate over celebrity privacy and paparazzi ethics has flared up once again. Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia recently lost her cool at a Mumbai award ceremony, directly confronting photographers for what she described as the disrespectful practice of taking intrusive "back shots" of female actors. A video from the Tuesday evening event has since gone viral, showing a visibly irritated Neha addressing the gathered media while exiting the venue.

According to reports, the Bollywood actress had happily posed for the paparazzi on the red carpet earlier in the evening but reached her breaking point due to the chaos and specific camera angles used as she prepared to leave.

“Yeh badtameezi se backshot kaun leta hai tumlog me se? Kaun leta hai? Band karo,” an angry Neha Dhupia is seen asking in the clip.

Her frustration highlighted a growing concern among actresses who feel that basic boundaries are increasingly being ignored for the sake of viral content. Neha Dhupia emphasised that despite repeated requests from celebrities, the practice has continued unchecked.

“Mera nahi karna hai. Kisi ka nahi karna hai. Bol bol kar thak gaye hain,” she continued in the video.

Neha Dhupia is not the only celebrity to recently draw a hard line with the paparazzi. The incident follows several high-profile clashes between Bollywood stars and photographers over invasive behaviour.

Earlier this week, actress Sonakshi Sinha appeared visibly annoyed while leaving a Mumbai restaurant after a family dinner. Despite politely asking the paparazzi to stop recording as she exited with her husband, Zaheer Iqbal, and father, Shatrughan Sinha – saying, “Bas, guys. Thank you. Good night!” – the cameras kept rolling.

In May, superstar Salman Khan also had a fiery confrontation with photographers outside a Mumbai hospital. The actor, who was there on a private visit regarding a medical emergency, lashed out after paparazzi trailed him and shouted his name. He later posted a series of angry messages on social media, questioning their ethics and warning that he would not tolerate such intrusions during moments of pain. The media later apologized to Salman Khan.

Neha Dhupia's recent confrontation has reignited the conversation around the need for more ethical paparazzi practices. As the line between public appearances and personal boundaries continues to blur, the question remains: when does getting the shot cross the line?

Meanwhile, on the work front, Neha Dhupia and her husband, actor Angad Bedi are currently hosting a chat show, ‘Double Date’.
