“Truly Terrible Of...”: Shraddha Kapoor Has This Complaint After Watching ‘Dhurandhar’
Shraddha Kapoor showered praise on Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ while playfully complaining about the wait for the second part.
Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ has become the talk of the town since hitting theatres earlier this month. The spy action thriller, featuring an ensemble cast in never-before-seen avatars, has captivated audiences with its gripping storyline and powerful performances. Joining the long list of admirers is actress Shraddha Kapoor, who recently penned a note for the director and his wife, Yami Gautam Dhar, praising the film while complaining about the wait for the sequel.
On Monday night, Shraddha Kapoor took to Instagram Stories with a playful grievance. She wrote, “Truly terrible of @adityadharfilms to make a film like Dhurandhar.”

In her next Instagram Story, she added, “And then make us wait 3 months for part 2.”
She continued by urging the makers to change the schedule: “Don't play with our emotions, pre pone the release please. What a phenomenal experience. Subah shoot nahi hoti toh kasam se abhi hi dobaara dekhne jaati.”
Celebrating a strong year for the industry, she added, “Chhaava, Saiyaara, Dhurandhar All in 2025. Hindi Cinema (rocket emoji).”

Beyond the praise, Shraddha Kapoor also addressed the hurdles the film faced prior to release. Supporting Yami Gautam’s earlier stance, Shraddha wrote, “From @yamigautam having to call out the rampant negative PR machinery to manufactured controversies, Dhurandhar endured it all and came out shining! No bad force can pull a good film down. In Audiences we Trust.”

This refers to Yami Gautam’s pre-release statement, where she criticised the trend of “giving money... to ensure good hype” or paying to spread negativity. Yami had labelled this practice of extortion and manufactured negativity a “plague” threatening the industry's future.
‘Dhurandhar’ is enjoying a formidable run at the box office. In just 11 days, the film has grossed Rs 379.75 crore and is steadily closing in on the Rs 400 crore mark.
Shraddha Kapoor joined a host of stars who have praised the film’s scale and storytelling, including Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Allu Arjun, Karan Johar, and Anupam Kher.
The film draws inspiration from real-life incidents, following a spy who infiltrates Rehman Dakait’s gang in Lyari, Pakistan. The protagonist's mission is to dismantle the gang and provide Indian officials at RAW with crucial intelligence regarding their dealings with the ISI to curb terrorism.
The film stars Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan in lead roles, supported by Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, and Danish Pandor.
Amid the film’s massive success, Ranveer Singh shared a note on Instagram: “Kismat ki ek bohut khoobsurat aadat hai, ki woh waqt aane par badalti hai… lekin filhal… nazar aur sabr.”
Audiences won't have to wait too long. The sequel, ‘Dhurandhar 2’, is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026. It is set for a major box office clash with Yash’s highly anticipated film, ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for the Grown-Ups’.
