"Chudail Hai, Kala Jadoo…": Rhea Chakraborty On What People Said About Her After Sushant Singh Rajput's Death
Rhea Chakraborty was arrested in September 2020 about an alleged drug-related case.

Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty was subjected to a media trial in 2020 after her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput died allegedly by suicide. Rhea Chakraborty was attacked by online trolls, and there was a witch hunt against her. However, this bad phase has not brought down the morale of the actress and in the latest entertainment news, she has launched her new podcast 'Chapter 2'. On the first episode of the podcast, which featured Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen, Rhea Chakraborty said that she is finally regaining control of her narrative after a tumultuous phase in her life. For the unversed, Rhea was arrested in September 2020 in relation to an alleged drugs-related case. However, she was granted bail in October 2020.
“Ok, people are confused about what I do for a living anymore. I am not acting in films, I do other things, I do motivational speaking and that’s how I earn my money," Rhea said while speaking to Sushmita Sen on her podcast.
“Everybody knows my ‘chapter one’, or assumes that they know it. I did go through a lot of phases of feeling different emotions, being different versions of myself. Finally, I am feeling more me, but a newer version, like a rebirth. And I want to celebrate that with anyone who has a ‘chapter two’. I want to say that it is ok to have a chapter two, to start again, to move on in life. I want to celebrate change," she added.
Rhea Chakraborty also said that people hated the "personality" she created of herself for the public. “They had a problem with my image, which was created by me, which they interpreted in different manner," she said.
“I often joke that I have a big superpower. I enter a room and I can polarise it! Half of them would think, ‘Isney kuch kiya hai, ye chudail hai, kala jadoo karti hai‘ and the other half would think, ‘She’s a strong girl who fought it, she had courage.’ I can sense it the moment I enter a room. I will do this at the dentists clinic, the gym, the airport. That has also made me understand that it doesn’t matter. Those who love you, great, those who hate, that’s also ok, it doesn’t matter,” she added.
For the uninitiated, in March 2024, a special court in Mumbai, designated under the NDPS Act, allowed Rhea Chakraborty to travel abroad with her family for a short holiday in Thailand.
