The CBI has finally filed the closure report related to the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Rhea Chakraborty, who was subjected to a malicious media trial, has been vindicated. Actress Dia Mirza has now reacted to the latest development in the case, asking whether some journalists have the “grace” to issue an apology to Rhea and her family. According to news agency PTI, the CBI filed two separate reports.

First in the abetment to suicide case filed by Sushant’s father and the second report belongs to Sushant's rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty against his sisters.

“Who in the media will have the grace to put out a written apology to Rhea Chakraborty and her family? You went on a witch hunt. You caused deep anguish and harassment just for TRPs. Apologise. That's the very least you can do. @rhea chakraborty,” wrote Dia Mirza in Instagram Stories.

The courts will now have to decide whether to accept the report or to order a further probe by the agency, as per news agency PTI.

For the unversed, Rhea Chakraborty grabbed headlines after Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on June 14, 2020, days after she had moved out of his house. She faced a lot of criticism after the sudden death of SSR. Rhea was arrested in September 2020 in relation to an alleged drugs-related case. However, she was granted bail in October 2020.

Earlier, Rhea while speaking to Aamir Khan on her podcast, revealed that she had depression after the death of her boyfriend and what all transpired in the media.

“It took me so long to start chapter 2 is because I was healing all this while. There was pain, anxiety, PTSD, and whatnot. And grief has a veto power over everything else. You could be talking to someone, and you get engulfed by grief out of the blue. There were some of the things, but today I feel that I have renewed energy. I feel like meeting people, my curiosity has been revived. There was no interest in knowing about others and their lives. There’s depression conditioning your mind. After overcoming that, now I feel like the sun is rising again. I feel like doing new things,” she said.

“One of the biggest reason why I started a podcast of my own was the fact that media went extreme with the whole episode. I tried to give interviews a couple of times, but I didn’t feel good. I went on a podcast sometime ago, and he promised me that ‘come, we will talk as friends, that person said, I won’t question you like journalist, we are new media, we are podcasters’, but he made it all even worse for me. I didn’t let him release that podcast. At least, in case of traditional media, I know how they are going to approach things and I go prepared. It was that day that I decided that I want to create a safe space where I want to speak to people,” she added.

For the unversed, Rhea Chakraborty is currently serving as a gang leader on MTV Roadies XX.
