Nick Jonas Goes “My Desi Girl” As He Gushes Over Priyanka Chopra’s Stunning ‘Varanasi’ Look
Nick Jonas turned full hype man for Priyanka Chopra as he gushed over her breathtaking lehenga look from the ‘Varanasi’ event.
Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently made a dazzling appearance in Hyderabad for the title and teaser launch of her highly anticipated film ‘Varanasi’. The global star arrived in a breathtaking white lehenga, instantly capturing attention and drawing comparisons to a real-life Princess Jasmine. Her husband, singer Nick Jonas, was just as mesmerised. He couldn’t hold back his admiration and dedicated heartfelt messages to her on social media.
For the grand event, Priyanka Chopra chose a stunning creation by designer Anamika Khanna. The all-white lehenga featured intricate ivory and gold crystal work, delicate sequin detailing, and antique metallic gold embroidery tracing the border of the skirt. She styled her hair in a long braid, completing the look with divine grace – what she described as “channelling her inner devi”. The overall appearance marked one of her most elegant Indian looks in recent years.
Nick Jonas, who has always been vocal in supporting Priyanka’s work, took to Instagram Stories to shower her with love. Sharing pictures from the event, he captioned one image, “Just wow. Breathtaking,” and on another, he proudly declared, “My Desi Girl.”
Priyanka Chopra reacted to Nick Jonas’ admiration and praise on Instagram Stories.
In a separate post, Nick Jonas shared Mahesh Babu’s newly revealed poster from the film and added, “Congrats to the whole team, this film is sure to be incredible.”
‘Varanasi’ marks Priyanka Chopra’s return to Indian cinema after six years. She will be seen in the powerful role of Mandakini, a character she recently introduced through a fierce first-look poster. Last week, director SS Rajamouli unveiled her intense action avatar – Priyanka was seen in a yellow saree, wielding a gun on a cliff, instantly setting the internet abuzz.
Rajamouli welcomed her back with the caption, “The woman who redefined Indian cinema on the global stage… Can’t wait for the world to witness your myriad shades of MANDAKINI.”
The film stars Mahesh Babu in the lead as Rudhra. The first look video, launched on November 15, offered a thrilling glimpse of his character, including a dramatic shot of him riding a bull through the streets of Varanasi.
Prithviraj Sukumaran has taken on the role of the antagonist, Kumbha. While much of the plot remains under wraps, SS Rajamouli revealed an exciting detail – Mahesh Babu will appear as Lord Rama in one of the sequences, a segment that reportedly required 60 days to shoot.
‘Varanasi’ is slated for a worldwide release in 2027. However, the exact date is yet to be announced.
