'Mirzapur The Movie' promises to be a high-octane showdown between Ali Fazal and Divyenndu. Have you seen the power-packed teaser yet?
The wait is over! ‘Bhaukaal’ is all set to unleash on the big screen on September 4, 2026. The first teaser for 'Mirzapur The Movie' was released on Thursday afternoon, and it is everything we expected it to be. The film will once again bring the rivalry between Munna Tripathi and Guddu Pandit to the centre stage. The upcoming movie is the prequel to the mega-successful Amazon Prime Video show 'Mirzapur', and it will see the return of Divyenndu’s Munna, who was killed off in the finale of the second season.
The film will also mark the return of Bablu Pandit, who will now be played by Jitendra Kumar of 'Panchayat' fame. For the unversed, Vikrant Massey had played Bablu in the first season, and his character was killed off in the finale.

The teaser minces no words and confirms that the project is an origin story, set in 2018, before and alongside the events of season one. This means that Munna, who died at the end of season 2, is still alive here.
The clip shows Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi) worried that his son, Munna, is not the ideal heir to his throne. Meanwhile, the Pandit brothers, Ali Fazal and Jitendra, can be seen going on a warpath to dismantle Munna's empire and establish themselves as the true and rightful kings of Mirzapur.
The teaser also shows several familiar faces from the show, and introduces a new character played by Ravi Kishan, who gets his fair share of whistle-worthy moments.
“Witness the epic untold story this September. Get ready for bhaukaal on the big screen,” read the teaser’s official description on YouTube.

Speaking about the Prime Video show 'Mirzapur', the series remains one of the most influential and followed Indian OTT projects of the streaming era. Created by Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna, the crime thriller premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2018 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. The series is set in the lawless heartland of Uttar Pradesh and explores a dark world dominated by crime, politics, power struggles, and revenge.
The story revolves around Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), a powerful crime lord who controls Mirzapur through fear and influence. The events unravel after a dramatic turn when Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal) and Bablu Pandit (Vikrant Massey) become entangled in his criminal empire. A major reason behind the show's success is its stellar cast. Pankaj Tripathi delivers a career-defining performance as Kaleen Bhaiya, while Ali Fazal shines as the revenge-driven Guddu Pandit.
Other notable performances come from Divyenndu Sharma, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, and Rasika Dugal. Over three successful seasons, ‘Mirzapur’ has built a loyal fan base thanks to its raw storytelling and complex characters.
