“Khud Kuch Kaam…”: Karan Johar Schools Troll For “Nepo Kid Ka Daijaan” Comment Following Praise For ‘Saiyaara’
Karan Johar schooled a troll for calling him “nepo kid ka daijaan” after the director-producer praised ‘Saiyaara’.
‘Saiyaara’, marking the debut of Ahaan Panday and featuring Aneet Padda, is setting the box office on fire and winning hearts across India. The Mohit Suri-directed romantic drama has quickly become the talk of the town, with several Bollywood celebrities raving about it on social media. From Arjun Kapoor and Neha Dhupia to Alia Bhatt and Arjun Rampal, the film’s fresh leads are receiving widespread applause. Joining the chorus of praise is filmmaker Karan Johar, who recently took to Instagram to celebrate the Yash Raj-backed film and its promising debutants.
“I don’t remember the last time I felt like this after watching a film …. Tears flowing and yet the feeling of immense joy… Joy for the fact that a love story has conquered the silver screen and made the nation fall in love …. Proudest that my Alma mater @yrf has bought love back!!! Back to the movies …. Back to our Industry,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Adi I love you and feel so proud to say that I am a YRF student for life! @awidhani what a debut as producer!!! That ball is now officially out of the park! Congratulations! @mohitsuri makes the best film of his career and am blown away by his storytelling , his craft and his magnificent use of music… the music is not just a pillar but a character in this film,” he added.

Speaking further about Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, KJo wrote, “What a debut @ahaanpandayy!!!!! You broke my heart and yet energised me as a filmmaker. Soon after, a troll jumped in with a dig at Karan Johar and referenced “nepotism”, commenting, “A gaya nepo kid ka daijaan.”
However, Karan Johar wasn’t having it and swiftly clapped back, saying, “Chup kar!!! Ghar baithe baithee negativity mat paal! Do bachon ka kaam dekh !! Aur khud kuch kaam kar.”
Speaking of 'Saiyaara', the new Hindi film earned Rs 37 crore on Sunday, the third day of its release, taking the total three-day collection to Rs 83.07 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
‘Saiyaara’ has already surpassed the total lifetime collection of ‘Student of the Year’, which marked the debuts of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. The Karan Johar directorial had made Rs 70 crore in India in 2012.
