In the world of Bollywood, Karan Johar is known for his sharp wit and flair for the dramatic, but it seems he may have finally met his match in his own household. The filmmaker-producer recently took to Instagram to share a delightful video that has since gone viral, featuring a "business proposal" from his nine-year-old son, Yash, that left the Dharma Productions head honcho completely speechless. The video begins with Yash sitting comfortably on a couch while Karan, behind the camera, asks about a "business proposal" the youngster had mentioned.

With the confidence of a seasoned entrepreneur, Yash explains that he and his sister, Roohi, want to start paying rent for their bedrooms when they grow up.

The initial terms seemed straightforward: Yash suggested a payment of Rs 200 every three months. Ever the negotiator, Karan Johar pushed for a more frequent schedule, asking if the payment could be made monthly. While Yash agreed to the monthly frequency, he quickly introduced a counter-clause that turned the "deal" on its head. Yash insisted that while he and Roohi would pay Rs 400 in total (Rs 200 each), Karan would have to give them "payback" of Rs 100 each.

A visibly baffled Karan did the math aloud, realising that receiving Rs 400 only to return Rs 200 meant a significantly lower profit margin than he expected. When he asked what kind of business deal involves giving money back to the tenant, Yash simply replied with a straight face, "It's a good deal." Karan ended the banter with his trademark "Toodles," captioning the post with a plea to his followers to weigh in on whether he should sign off on the proposal.
The industry was quick to react to the adorable negotiation. Athiya Shetty, Farah Khan, and Namrata Shirodkar were seen dropping laughing and heart-eyes emojis in the comments. Designer Nandita Mahtani quipped about "Good Sindhi genes," while actress Tannaz Irani praised Yash’s focus on ROI (Return on Investment), noting that the boy is clearly on the right track for the corporate world. Beyond the humour, the video offered a heartwarming look at Karan’s life as a single parent. Karan welcomed Yash and Roohi via surrogacy in February 2017, naming Yash after his late father and Roohi as an anagram of his mother’s name, Hiroo.
