Actor Rajkummar Rao is known for his versatile acting range, and he will next be seen playing the role of a blind industrialist in upcoming Hindi film 'Srikanth'. Of late, Rajkummar Rao has been grabbing headlines after a rumour of him undergoing plastic surgery went viral. Every interview the actor gives, he is being asked about the same, and in the latest entertainment news, Rajkummar Rao has given a boss reply to the ongoing rumours about him.
"Well, yeah, first time it started, I also looked at that picture and I also felt, this is weird. I don't look like that guy in the picture. This is weird, has someone done something to the image because it is too clean to believe. But then, the noise started and it spread like wildfire. Then people told me that it's good na that you are meme culture, it means you are popular, people are writing about you," Rajkummar Rao told Film Companion.
"And also I know my truth, I haven't done it. If I would have done it also, I wouldn't have felt guilty. That's my decision. And then ofcourse, there were some interviews lined up, a couple of days back, and everyone wanted to know about this. And then I gave my answer, I told them I did what I needed to do 9 years back. Not like in the middle of a shoot. 9 years back I did that. Fine, doesn't bother me, because I know eventually people will talk about my work. I am still the same person, I am still the same actor, I am still as hungry as I was ten years back," he added.
While answering the question, he also joked, "I will always be the person who will keep his chin up. (laughs)."
During the interview, Rajkummar Rao also said that several directors, YouTubers and social media influencers reached out to him when these rumours started doing the rounds.
"Several directors, YouTubers or influencers reached out to me, saying we don't care, it's your life. We will always love you. And saying that, you are definitely looking better," he said.
For the unversed, Rajkummar Rao's picture from the Diljit Dosanjh concert had recently gone viral, and several people opined that he has undergone plastic surgery.
In the pictures, Rajkummar Rao's chin appeared longer, and as soon as the image surfaced on social media, memes flooded the internet.
Rajkummar Rao's upcoming film 'Srikanth' will be releasing in cinemas on May 10, 2024. The movie also stars Jyotika, Sharad Kelkar and Alaya F.
