Sunny Deol was seen getting emotional after director Rajkumar Santoshi said that the "industry did not do justice" to the actor.

Sunny Deol has gotten a macho image attached to himself after playing massy action hero roles in his movies, but the actor is totally the opposite in real life. The actor has never shied away from showing his emotions in real life. Sunny Deol was also seen tearing up after his father Dharmendra praised him on an episode of 'Koffee With Karan'. Recently, the actor attended the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, and he got teary-eyed during a conversation with three of his most successful and frequent collaborators – filmmakers Rahul Rawail, Anil Sharma, and Rajkumar Santoshi.

In a video going viral on social media, Sunny Deol can be seen getting emotional at one particular remark by Rajkumar Santoshi.

“I believe that the industry has not done justice to Sunny’s talent. But God has done justice,” said Rajkumar Santoshi. Hearing this, Sunny Deol broke down into tears.

When Rajkumar Santoshi asked Sunny Deol about his journey, the actor said, “I have been really very lucky. I just get too emotional, that’s my problem. I was very fortunate. I started with Rahul. He gave me three beautiful films. Some worked, some didn’t. But till today, people remember those films. I am standing here because of my films. After Gadar, which was a massive hit, my struggle period had started because subjects or scripts were not offered to me and things were not happening. Even though I did some films in between, there was a gap of 20 years.”

“But I did not give up. I was always moving forward. I joined films because I wanted to become an actor, not a star. I had seen the films of my father and I too wanted to do films of that variety,” he added.

For the unversed, Sunny Deol had made his debut with Rahul's 1993 romantic film ‘Betaab’. However, the actor rose to fame with Rajkumar Santoshi's blockbusters like ‘Ghayal’, ‘Damini’, and ‘Ghatak: Lethal’.

On the work front, the actor was last seen in the Anil Sharma directorial ‘Gadar 2’. The 2023 Bollywood movie, which also stars Ameesha Sharma and Utkarsh Sharma, is currently the second-highest grossing Hindi film of all time, only behind Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Jawan’.

The actor will next be seen in Rajkumar Santoshi's ‘Lahore 1947’. The movie is being backed by Aamir Khan Productions.
