Actor Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan, has opened up about one of the most harrowing moments of his life – his father’s stabbing incident in Mumbai and its aftermath. In a candid conversation with GQ, the ‘Nadaaniyan’ actor recalled the emotional chaos of that night, revealing how seeing his father post-attack left him shaken and in tears. Describing the experience as deeply traumatising, Ibrahim shared how the intense conversation he had with Saif left a lasting impact, marking a defining moment in their relationship and his personal journey.

“I was shooting a night shift. He was stabbed around 2:30am and I was informed at 5:30am. I hadn’t slept that night and I rushed to see him. He had just come out of the ICU after surgery. He opened his eyes, spoke to Sara for a bit, and asked for me. I was so happy; I said, ‘I’m right here, dad.’ And then he said, “If you were there, you would’ve beaten that guy up,” Ibrahim Ali Khan said.

“That made me weep. I wish I had been there. At one point, when I heard he got stabbed, I started to think of the worst-case scenario. That’s a very scary feeling. And it was bad; it was very scary. To everyone saying I drove him to the hospital with my baby brother, I would like to clarify that my dad walked into the hospital himself. He walked in with a knife stuck in him and said, ‘I need help’,” he added.

Ibrahim further spoke about how the incident has changed his relationship with his father.

“I feel a lot closer to him now. If someone in your immediate family has a near-death experience, you don’t take them for granted. You become more present in the relationship,” he said.

For the unversed, an intruder stabbed Saif Ali Khan multiple times inside his Bandra home on January 16, leaving him severely injured.

Speaking to Bombay Times recently, he had recalled how his kurta was drenched in blood following the attack. In a desperate attempt to get medical help, Kareena, along with their children—Taimur and Jeh—ran downstairs, frantically searching for an auto or cab to rush him to the hospital.

Detailing the moments before receiving medical aid, Saif Ali Khan shared, “I said, I kind of feel some pain. There’s something wrong with my back. She said – you go to the hospital and I’ll go to my sister’s house. She was making calls frantically – but nobody was up. And we looked at each other, and I said, ‘I’m fine. I’m not going to die.’ And Taimur also asked me – ‘Are you going to die?’ I said, ‘No.’”

“My wife sent him knowing what he would do for me. Maybe it wasn’t at the moment, it was the right thing to do. I felt good about it,” he added.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Saif was last seen in ‘Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins’. The movie also starred Jaideep Ahlawat and Nikita Dutta.
