Diljit Dosanjh, who recently performed in Mumbai, spoke about breaking the Punjabi stereotypes in a new video.

Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh is on a high! And honestly, who wouldn’t be? Diljit Dosanjh is ruling the hearts of many worldwide with his slew of musical hits like ‘Naina’, ‘Magic’ and ‘Khutti’. He is also garnering immense praise for his powerful performance in the new Netflix movie ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’. And don’t forget that Diljit Dosanjh made Ed Sheeran and Sia sing in Punjabi! That speaks volumes about Diljit Dosanjh’s phenomenal stardom. His recent concert in Mumbai over the weekend was attended by several big celebrities from the Hindi film industry.
A day after his performance, Diljit Dosanjh took to Instagram to give a glimpse of his Mumbai concert. In the video, several female fans can be seen holding placards with “Marry Me, Diljit” written on them.
Some were even seen shedding tears on seeing their favourite singer perform live. Several others broke into bhangra as they enjoyed the concert.

In another video posted by Diljit Dosanjh on Instagram, the singer-actor can be seen interacting with fans from the stage and speaking about breaking the Punjabi stereotypes.
“They said Punjabis aren’t fashionable and I said, I will show you. They said Punjabis can’t act in films, I showed them I could. They said Punjabis can’t go to Mumbai, and I proved them wrong. They said Punjabis can’t sell tickets for the bar arena, I had the stadium packed at my concert. They said Punjabis can’t do Illuminati, I said, I will do ‘Di-Luminati,” said Diljit Dosanjh in Punjabi as he announced his Vancouver concert on April 27.
