On Tuesday, the parents-to-be treated fans to a rare public appearance when they stepped out in Mumbai for a laid-back lunch date to satisfy some classic cravings. The destination of choice? A popular Mumbai restaurant where the duo was spotted indulging in a hearty meal of benne dosas.
Videos of their intimate outing quickly caught the attention of fans on social media. Keeping their daytime excursion entirely low-key, the couple opted for comfortable, understated casuals. Deepika looked effortlessly chic in a relaxed co-ord set, while Ranveer kept things simple in a T-shirt paired with black pants. Ensuring their privacy, both stars completed their looks with face masks as they made their way out of the eatery.

Despite the casual nature of the lunch, the A-list couple was surrounded by a tight security detail. In the footage circulating online, Deepika and Ranveer can be seen exiting the restaurant and heading to their car. Their security team was actively seen requesting onlookers and fans not to record the couple as they made their quick exit.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the Bollywood stars have been spotted relishing the menu at Benne. The couple had previously visited the popular food joint to celebrate the massive success of Ranveer’s film, ‘Dhurandhar 2’. The cafe’s official Instagram account even celebrated that visit by sharing a selfie taken from inside the restaurant. The picture featured Deepika and Ranveer flashing happy smiles alongside the actor’s father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, and enthusiastic members of the restaurant staff. The restaurant cheekily captioned the memorable post: “Something and all is happening pt.2 #benne #chowpatty”.
This cozy dosa date comes just months after Deepika and her husband Ranveer took the internet by storm with a joint Instagram post earlier this year, informing their fans that they are all set to embrace parenthood once again. The touching announcement picture featured their first child, daughter Dua Padukone Singh, holding up a pregnancy test displaying two distinct pink lines – the universal symbol for a positive result. In a beautiful family moment, both Ranveer and Deepika’s hands could be seen gently holding their daughter's. The couple's love story has been a fan-favourite for years, tracing back to when Deepika and Ranveer tied the knot in 2018. They hosted breathtaking ceremonies in Italy that beautifully honoured both their Konkani and Sindhi traditions, and later welcomed their first child, Dua, in September 2024.
Meanwhile, on the work front, both actors have highly anticipated projects lined up. Apart from sharing the screen with Shah Rukh Khan in the upcoming movie ‘King’, Deepika is also busy working on her next major film, ‘Raaka’, alongside Allu Arjun. Directed by Atlee and produced by Sun Pictures, ‘Raaka’ is expected to hit screens in 2027.
