Cannes 2023: Uorfi Javed slams Vivek Agnihotri for commenting on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's red carpet look.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the Cannes 2023 red carpet on Thursday, and yet she is still trending on social media platforms, the reason being her giant silver hooded gown dress. 'The Kashmir Files' director Vivek Agnihotri had first taken a dig at the actress and he commented on the use of assistants who accompany celebrities on the red carpet.

"Have you guys heard of a term called ‘Costume Slaves’. They are mostly girls (a suited man in this case). You can see them now in India too with almost every female celeb. Why are we becoming so stupid and oppressive just for such uncomfortable fashion," Vivek Agnihotri had tweeted on Friday.

It looks like this tweet has not gone down well with social media sensation Uorfi Javed, who is known for her sartorial fashion choices. She tweeted, saying it looks like Vivek Agnihotri knows a lot about fashion, and he should have directed the Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Kangana Ranaut-starrer 'Fashion'.

"Mai jaan na chalti hu Aapne kaunse fashion school se apni degree lee Hai? Aapko delh k lagta hai aapko fashion ki kaafi samajh hai , fashion movie aapko direct karni chahiye thi," tweeted Uorfi Javed.

Talking about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, she walked the red carpet on Thursday wearing a sparkling silver gown from the Sophie Couture label. The dress was also paired with a structured giant hood and it covered the actress' head.

An oversized black bow rounded up the look. However, this look of Aishwarya wasn't to the taste of many fans, and several users mocked the actress for her latest look at the Cannes Film Festival.

Aditi Rao Hydari, Vignesh Shivan, Niharika NM, Ruhee Dosani, Ranveer Allahbadia, and Dolly Singh are attending the event as well.

Talking about the films, Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Kennedy’, Kanu Behl’s ‘Agra’, Yudhajit Basu’s ‘Nehemich’ and Aribam Syam Sharma’s ‘Ishanou’ are part of the Indian showcase at Cannes.

While ‘Agra’ will have its world premiere in the Directors’ Fortnight section, ‘Kennedy’, ‘Nehemich’ and ‘Ishanou’ will be showcased in the Midnight Screenings, La Cinef and Cannes Classics section, respectively.
