Anurag Kashyap has spoken up against Anushka Sharma being trolled whenever Virat Kohli fails to score big runs.
Director Anurag Kashyap will be showcasing his acting skills in the upcoming ZEE5 movie 'Haddi' alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui. In the latest entertainment news, Anurag Kashyap has been busy lately as he is promoting the new Hindi movie left, right and centre. Recently, the 'Gangs of Wasseypur' director was asked if Bollywood is targetted frequently because it lacks unity. Anurag Kashyap then said that it is not just Bollywood that is targetted, as even cricketers are targetted in the same manner. Anurag Kashyap used the example of actress Anushka Sharma being trolled whenever Virat Kohli fails to score big in matches.
“Cricketers are trashed just as much. If Virat doesn’t hit a century, people are on to him. They will also drag Anushka into it. Whatever is celebrated the most, the same thing is always trashed. Be it cinema, cricket or our politicians, our heroes," Anurag Kashyap told Pinkvilla.
“Here, everyone thinks that they are an expert at everything. Everyone thinks they know who should be the captain, who should be a film star, who should be PM,” he added.
When asked whether Bollywood is targetted because of perceived lack of unity, the director said: "Unity has got nothing to do with it.” He added, “Bollywood has difference of opinion vis a vis lots of things but despite that, they can still come together. There are very few people who are rabid opportunists and those people are avoided by everyone in the industry.”
Talking about Anushka Sharma, she was recently spotted by the paparazzi at the Mumbai airport. She absolutely rocked a white and peach Anarkali suit, featuring a kurta, palazzo pants, and dupatta.
On the work front, the actress will next be seen in 'Chakda Xpress', a biopic on the life of former India woman cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
The movie directed by Prosit Roy, will be releasing on Netflix.
Speaking of Virat Kohli, the cricketer is currently a part of India's squad for the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. India will next take on Pakistan in the Super 4 stage of the tournament on Sunday in Colombo.
