Watch: Ajay Devgn Returns To His Action Roots, To Headline ‘Chauhaan’ Based On Kashmir Valley Unrest
Ajay Devgn's 'Chauhaan' is set against the backdrop of the 2018 unrest in the Kashmir Valley.
Ajay Devgn fans have been urging their favourite star to return to his OG genre action. At last, it seems that the superstar has heard the voice of his ardent supporters. On Thursday, production house Jio Studios confirmed that the actor would be headlining a project titled 'Chauhaan', which will release in theatres on October 1, 2027. The makers also unveiled a power-packed clip on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Ajay Devgn's father and late action director, Veeru Devgan.
'Chauhaan' is set against the backdrop of the 2018 unrest in the Kashmir Valley. The clip shows the police trying to control the unruly crowd. The highlight of the clip is the iconic 'Jumma Chumma De De' song from the 1991-film 'Hum', starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth.

The track can be heard in the latter half of the announcement video, and the clip ends with Ajay Devgn saying a massy dialogue, “Pathaanon se kehna, Chauhaan aa raha hai.”

'Chauhaan' marks Ajay Devgn's first-ever collaboration with filmmaker Aanand L Rai. The film is being presented by Jio Studios alongside Colour Yellow, making it one of the notable partnerships currently lined up in Hindi cinema.
The film has been directed by Neeraj Yadav and is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L Rai, and Himanshu Sharma.
Throughout his career, Ajay Devgn has been known as the 'OG action hero'. He made a sensational debut in 1991 with 'Phool Aur Kaante' and no one can forget the image of the young actor balancing on two moving motorcycles. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, he delivered a string of action hits such as 'Jigar', 'Diljale', 'Vijaypath', 'Singham', and 'Khakee'.
Ajay Devgn will next be seen in the multi-starrer comedy 'Dhamaal 4', which is set to release in theatres on July 10. The actor will later be seen in 'Drishyam 3', which is set to the hit big screens in October this year.
