Plot Summary
The story revolves around a young couple, Siddharth "Siddhu" Mishra (Fardeen Khan) and Anu Malhotra (Urmila Matondkar), who decide to join a group safari-like expedition in a forest reserve. The trip takes a horrific turn when the group is ambushed and taken hostage by a band of bandits led by the cold-blooded and feared dacoit, Durga Narayan Chaudhary (Sushant Singh).
The bandits demand the release of one of their men from police custody and commit atrocities to terrorize the government. After their demands are met, they release most of the hostages, but Durga becomes infatuated with Anu and keeps her captive.
Siddhu, who was part of the group and managed to go into hiding, decides to rescue Anu himself when he realizes she has not been released. He secretly follows an illegal arms supplier, Makrand Deshpande (Doraiswamy), to the bandits' hideout. A chaotic escape ensues, and the couple flees into the dense forest with the bandits in pursuit.
Meanwhile, the head of the local police, Shivraj Mittal (Suniel Shetty), is relentlessly tracking down Durga and his gang. As the police encounters in the jungle reduce the number of bandits, Durga, still obsessed with capturing Anu, is eventually intercepted by Shivraj. In the final confrontation, Shivraj is killed, but Siddhu manages to defeat Durga, who is then arrested. The film ends with Siddhu and Anu reuniting.
