Shehnaaz Gill Opens Up On Being “Body Shamed” During ‘Bigg Boss 13’, Says She “Changed” Herself
Shehnaaz Gill reflected on how she changed herself after being brutally body shamed during her stint on the Salman Khan-hosted show ‘Bigg Boss 13’.
Shehnaaz Gill, who recently made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan’s ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, shot to instant fame after participating in the Indian reality show ‘Bigg Boss 13’. The actress won millions of hearts because of her cute antics and unfiltered opinions. From her funny conversations with co-contestants to her sizzling chemistry with fellow participant and late actor Sidharth Shukla, Shehnaaz Gill was the most-talked-about contestant on the show. Post ‘BB 13’, she did a few shows and music videos.
Shehnaaz Gill’s journey from being a lesser-known celebrity in ‘Bigg Boss 13’ to starring in Salman Khan’s Eid release ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ has been truly inspirational.
However, Shehnaaz Gill recently revealed that she was “body shamed” during her stint on the reality show. She also went on to share how she “changed” her style as people thought she “could only wear salwar suit.”
Since her ‘BB 13’ stint in 2019, Shehnaaz Gill has had quite a transformation as she lost weight and changed her style of clothing. The actress told PTI that this was a conscious decision on her part as she took in all the negative comments directed towards her after she appeared on ‘Bigg Boss 13’.
She told PTI, “I changed myself, worked on myself. When people gave me good advice, I followed it and improved. I lost weight as I would hear a lot of comments on 'Bigg Boss' about being fat and was body-shamed.
“Then I changed my style as people would think I could only wear salwar-suit. I broke all these preconceived notions and would continue to do so moving forward," she added.
A few weeks ago, Shehnaaz Gill graced ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and made another shocking revelation. During the show, Shehnaaz revealed that she was the cheapest hired celebrity contestant on that show. The actress further added that although she was the cheapest hire, she came out as the most expensive one.
Meanwhile, talking about ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, the movie has been directed by Farhad Samji. The new Bollywood film, during its opening weekend, minted Rs 68.17 crore.
Coming back to Shehnaaz Gill, it was her childlike personality and her friendship with late Sidharth Shukla that had made her a popular figure in the entertainment industry. Post the show, the actress gained massive social media following making her one of the most popular faces in the world of showbiz.
Shehnaaz Gill also has Sajid Khan’s ‘100%’ which will release this year. The film also stars John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh and Nora Fatehi.
The actress has also completed filming on untitled project produced by Rhea Kapoor.
