Early Life and Family Roots
Vishal Anand was born in Mumbai into a family synonymous with Indian cinema. He was the nephew of the legendary Dev Anand, Chetan Anand, and Vijay Anand. His mother was Dev Anand's sister, making him a central part of the most influential film dynasty of that era.

Interestingly, while he is known to the world as Vishal Anand, he frequently used his birth name, Bhisham Kohli, for his work as a producer and director. He is also the uncle of actor and former VJ Purab Kohli.

One of Vishal’s greatest contributions to Indian cinema was his ear for music. He is widely credited with giving the legendary music director Bappi Lahiri his first major break in Bollywood.
