Suyash Sharad Pandey, better known by his stage name Chunky Panday, is an Indian actor who primarily works in Hindi-language films.

Early Life and Family:

Born: Suyash Panday on September 26, 1962, in Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra, India.

Parents: His father, Sharad Panday (1934–2004), was a heart surgeon, and his mother, Snehlata Panday (1936–2011), was a physician.

Brother: He has a brother named Aloke Sharad Panday, also known as Chikki Panday, who is a businessman.

Spouse: He is married to Bhavana Panday (m. 1998).

Children: They have two daughters, Ananya Panday (also an actress) and Rysa Panday.


Acting Career:

Debut: Chunky Panday began his acting career in 1987 with the multi-starrer film Aag Hi Aag.

Early Success: He gained significant recognition for his supporting role as Babban in N. Chandra's film Tezaab (1988), which earned him a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Other successful films from his early career include Paap Ki Duniya (1988) and Khatron Ke Khiladi (1988).

Lead Roles and Supporting Roles: While he appeared in many multi-hero films and had success in supporting roles with actors like Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Govinda (notably in Aankhen 1993), his solo lead films from 1992 onwards generally did not fare well at the box office.

Venturing into Bangladeshi Films: Due to a lack of lead roles in Bollywood, he moved to act as a lead actor in Bangladeshi films in the mid-1990s, where he starred in several successful movies.

Bollywood Comeback and Reinvention: He returned to Bollywood in 2003, initially playing minor supporting roles. His career saw a significant resurgence with his comedic portrayal of "Aakhri Pasta" in the Housefull series (starting in 2010), a role he has reprised in multiple sequels. He has also successfully transitioned into playing antagonist roles in recent years, for example in Saaho and Prassthanam.

Versatility: Known for his comedic timing, he has also shown his ability to play a range of characters, including dramatic and villainous roles.


Other Ventures:

Chunky Panday owns an event management company called 'Bollywood Electric,' known for its stage shows.
He and his wife Bhavana also run a health food restaurant in Mumbai.
