Rana Daggubati has lauded the universal appeal of Nag Ashwin's upcoming movie 'Kalki 2898 AD'.
Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 Ad', starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, is one of the most-awaited Indian movies of 2024, and fans cannot wait for the pan-India film to release in theatres on June 27, 2024. In the latest entertainment news, 'Baahubali' actor Rana Daggubati has lauded the upcoming movie, and he talked about the universal appeal of the Nag Ashwin directorial.
During a podcast with Vamshi Kurapati, Rana Daggubati said, "The next big moment is Kalki. Nag Ashwin is a very dear friend. Not just India and the Indian diaspora but everyone in the world will connect to Kalki. For a long time, I have been waiting for an Avengers moment from our side. That’s what has excited me to be part of it.”
On the work front, Rana Daggubati will next be seen alongside superstar Rajinikanth in the upcoming film 'Vettaiyan'.
Talking about the film on the same podcast, Rana Daggubati said, "The story [of Vettaiyan] is very unlike a usual Rajinikanth garu’s film. It is amazing that he is doing a film like that. The film has a very large cast, Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil. It’s a drama which involves the judiciary, police, and entrepreneurial systems. It’s a very well-researched story. I am very happy that Rajinikanth chose the film and I could be a part of it.”
Coming back to 'Kalki 2898 AD', the upcoming film is an epic sci-fi dystopian film. The movie has been bankrolled by C Aswani Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies, while the music for the film has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
Earlier, 'Kalki 2898 AD' was slated to be released in cinemas on May 9, 2024. But it has now been postponed to June 2024. The movie is one of the costliest Indian films ever made.
