Hrithik Roshan is possibly one of the most versatile actors working in Indian cinema currently. Over the years, he has starred in several memorable projects such as 'Dhoom 2', 'Jodhaa Akbar', 'Guzaarish', 'Super 30', and others. Several years ago, Hrithik Roshan had played the main role in Farhan Akhtar's 'Lakshya'. The movie might have bombed at the box office, but the Hindi film is looked at as one of the finest in Hrithik's career. But did you know that Hrithik Roshan was not the first choice for Lakshya? Yes, you read right.
As per a DNA report, Farhan Akhtar had reportedly offered the lead role to Aamir Khan first after working with him in his directorial debut 'Dil Chahta Hai'.
However, Aamir Khan turned down the role because he was already preparing for his next film 'Mangal Pandey'.
Speaking of 'Lakshya', the film was produced by Ritesh Sidhwani. The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan and Preity Zinta in lead roles. The film is based on a story by Javed Akhtar on the 1999 Kargil War.
The film is about Karan Shergill (Hrithik Roshan), who is an aimless, lazy young man and the son of a wealthy businessman from Delhi. As the movie goes on, he joins the Indian Army and matures into a battlefield hero just as war breaks out.
At the 50th Filmfare Awards, 'Lakshya' received 4 nominations, including Best Director (Farhan) and Best Actor (Roshan), and won 2 awards – Best Choreography (Prabhu Deva for "Main Aisa Kyun Hoon...") and Best Cinematography.
Talking about Hrithik Roshan, the actor was last seen in Siddharth Anand's 'Fighter', alongside Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor. The movie made more than Rs 200 crore in India.
Speaking of Farhan Akhtar, the director is gearing up to helm Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani's 'Don 3'.
