‘Shaitaan’, Starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Shows No Signs Of Slowing Down, Nears Rs 70 Crore Mark
‘Shaitaan’, starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Jyotika, continues to collect money at a brisk pace.

Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyotika's supernatural thriller ‘Shaitaan’, directed by Vikas Bahl, is earning money at a brisk pace in India. The new Hindi movie is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. The Day 5 business of ‘Shaitaan’ is almost on par with the collection on its first Monday, and this is a tremendous sign for the film. All other Hindi films released in 2024 – ‘Fighter’, ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, and ‘Article 370’ witnessed a steady fall in collections on weekdays. However, the same is not the case with ‘Shaitaan’.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Shaitaan’ minted Rs 6.75 crore on Tuesday, the fifth day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of ‘Shaitaan’ now stands at Rs 68 crore.
Earlier, trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh had said that the holy month of Ramadan will be impacting the business of all films.
“The holy month of #Ramadan has commenced, which will impact the biz of all films, since a chunk of the movie-going audience stays away from cinemas,” he wrote on X as he shared 'Shaitaan's first Monday collection.
‘Shaitaan’ is expected to perform very well on Wednesday as well. The film has recorded a decent advance booking for the sixth day of its release. As per Sacnilk, ‘Shaitaan’ has sold 79,667 tickets for Day 6, grossing Rs 1.33 crore.
For the unversed, ‘Shaitaan’ is performing better than Ajay Devgn's 'Bholaa', whose lifetime collection was Rs 90 crore in India. However, the new Hindi film is marginally underperforming as compared to 'Drishyam 2'. After its first five days, 'Drishyam 2' had minted Rs 86.49 crore while 'Shaitaan' has collected Rs 67.75 crore.
‘Shaitaan’ has been produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of Devgn Films, Jio Studios, and Panorama Studios. The film's story revolves around a happy family and how their lives take a turn after meeting a mysterious man.
The new Hindi movie is the remake of the 2023 Gujarat film ‘Vash’. The music for the film has been composed by Amit Trivedi, while Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti is the cinematographer, and Sandeep Francis is the editor.
