Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ is set to release in theatres on December 1.

December 1 will see a big Bollywood clash at the box office as Ranbir Kapoor's ‘Animal’ and Vicky Kaushal's ‘Sam Bahadur’ will be battling it out. However, if the advance booking for Day 1 is anything to go by, it is safe to say that ‘Animal’ will eat ‘Sam Bahadur’ alive on the opening day. ‘Animal’ directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga has already sold more than five lakh tickets in India for the opening day, grossing Rs 13.95 crore.

Out of these five lakh tickets, more than two lakh tickets are from national cinema chains (PVR, INOX and Cinepolis), and the film is slated to sell around four and five lakh tickets prior to release in just the major national cinema chains, as per Pinkvilla.

If the movie manages to sell these many tickets, then Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ would be ensuring a place in the top-five advance sellers ever in the history of Hindi cinema.

‘Animal’ is also generating massive interest from the Telugu-speaking belt. The movie is generating a lot of buzz down South when it comes to a Hindi film, and the hype can be credited to director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and actress Rashmika Mandanna.

‘Animal’, co-starring Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri, is also going to be released in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam (dubbed versions).

Talking about ‘Sam Bahadur’, it has been directed by Meghna Gulzar and also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra. The upcoming Hindi film has so far sold 38,556 tickets across India, grossing Rs 1.24 crore.

Currently, the record of most advance ticket sales is held by Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ as it had sold over 5.57 lakh tickets for the first day. SRK's ‘Pathaan’ is at the second spot with 5.56 lakh ticket sales.

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer ‘War’ (4.04 lakh tickets) is at the third spot, and it is followed by Aamir Khan's ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ (3.46 lakh tickets), and Salman Khan's ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ (3.4 lakh tickets).

Speaking of Ranbir Kapoor, his biggest hit till date is Rajkumar Hirani's ‘Sanju’ as it grossed nearly Rs 600 crore worldwide.

‘Animal’ is expected to deliver the biggest opening of his career, with current projections targeting Rs 50 crore on Day 1.

If the movie manages to collect this much, then it would be ahead of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s recently released ‘Tiger 3’, which made Rs 44 crore in India on its opening day. The movie, co-starring Emraan Hashmi, had released on Diwali 2023.
