“Have Some Shame”: Taapsee Pannu Trolled For Wearing Goddess Lakshmi Necklace With Revealing Red Gown
Taapsee Pannu was trolled for wearing a neckpiece adorned with a motif of goddess Lakshmi along with a revealing red gown.
It is not new for celebrities to get trolled these days. From their looks, choice of clothing, and style of walking to just about everything gets scrutinized by the virtual army. And Taapsee Pannu is no different. The Bollywood actress found herself at the receiving end of flak once again. The ‘Dunki’ actress is being trolled by Instagram users over a recent post, wherein she can be seen wearing a bright red gown featuring a deep plunging neckline.
However, the controversy is about the neckpiece she chose to don with the outfit. Taapsee Pannu paired a gold necklace, which was adorned with Goddess Lakshmi motif on it. Many noticed the intrinsically carved Goddess Lakshmi motif and felt the actress shouldn't have worn it with a revealing outfit.

Taapsee Pannu sported this look during Lakme Fashion Week 2023 as she turned muse for fashion designer Monisha Jaising. Taapsee walked the ramp in a shimmery red gown. Her embroidered gown was adorned with sequins.
She opted for a minimal makeup look and kept her curly voluminous hair open. Taapsee accentuated her look with the broad gold necklace by Reliance Jewels’ Akshaya Tritiya collection, which became the reason for all the criticism that she is getting.
Many started criticising the Bollywood actress for being “insensitive” and pairing a goddess necklace with a revealing outfit.
One comment on Taapsee's post read, “Shame on tapsee totally disgusting kisi bhi religion k symbols ko aap kese represent karte ho yeh aapko as a celebrity pata hona chahiye.”
Another user wrote, "Aise vulgar photo me Maa Laxmi ka haar pehna huaa hai... Shame on you tapsee!"
A third one commented, “Disgusting shame on you.”
Another user wrote, “You have disrespected goddess Maha Laxmi by wearing this neckpiece with a vulgar dress.”
Another comment read, “Goddess’ necklace in such a bad dress, have some shame.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Taapsee Pannu will next be seen in superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’, which also stars Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani.
The film is being directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Gauri Khan. ‘Dunki’ is set to release in theatres on December 22, 2023.
Other than this, the actress will also be seen in Anubhav Sinha’s next directional ‘Afwaah’, co-starring Bhumi Pednekar and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
She has also announced the sequel of ‘Haseen Dillruba 2’. The sequel will star Vikrant Massey and Sunny Kaushal as well. Jayprasad Desai will helm ‘Phir Aayi Haseena Dilruba’, which is scheduled to release on October 31, 2023.
