Mission Raniganj (Netflix) -- December 1
The Akshay Kumar-starrer has finally released on Netflix. The new Hindi movie stars Akshay Kumar, and Parineeti Chopra in leading roles. The film is based on a true event that occurred in November 1989 in Raniganj, West Bengal. 65 workers ended up being trapped inside a flooded coal mine. Upon its release, the film did not find many takers at the box office, however, Akshay Kumar called it the "best film" of his career.
Dhootha (Prime Video) -- December 1
This is the debut web series of actor Naga Chaitanya and the genre is supernatural suspense thriller. The eight-episode series has been directed by Vikram K Kumar and the show also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Prachi Desai. As per the official synopsis, death starts to follow people around Sagar played by Naga Chaitanya after he discovers "shreds of newspapers predicting horrific incidents that go beyond his worst nightmare."
The Archies (Netflix) -- December 7
This Netflix film will mark the acting debut of Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda. This Hindi film will be based in the 1960s, and the story is set against the backdrop of a hill station of Riverdale in India. The cast of the film includes Agastya Nanda as Archie Andrews, Suhana Khan as Veronica Lodge, Khushi Kapoor as Betty Cooper, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, Aditi Saigal (Dot) as Ethel Muggs, and Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley.
The film directed by Zoya Akhtar has been co-produced by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.
Kadak Singh (Zee5) -- December 8
Pankaj Tripathi is back in another thriller with ‘Kadak Singh’. The mystery thriller is directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. Pankaj Tripathi will be bringing to life the character of AK Shrivastav, a person suffering from retrograde amnesia, and piecing his life together bit by bit as he uncovers some mysterious happenings from his past. Kadak Singh also stars Sanjana Sanghi, Jaya Ahsan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Dilip Shankar, Paresh Pahuja and Varun Buddhadev.
The Crown Season 6 Part 2 (Netflix) -- December 14
The first Crown Season 6 Part 1, which released in November, followed the death of Lady Diana, and it needs to be seen what does the next six episodes have to offer. The series stars Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Claudia Harrison as Princess Anne, and Bertie Carvel as Tony Blair. Imelda Staunton is playing the role of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Freelancer The Conclusion (Disney+ Hotstar) -- December 15
The remaining episodes of the Mohit Raina-led series will be releasing on December 15. The show directed by Bhav Dhulia, had premiered earlier this year, and the first part revolved around how the character of Avinash Kamath goes on a rescue mission to bring back Aliya from Syria.
Kho Gaye Hum Kahan (Netflix) -- December 26
'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan' is set in Mumbai. The film has been directed by debutant director Arjun Varain Singh while it has been produced by Excel Entertainment's Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar in collaboration with Tiger Baby's Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar. The film stars Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav in leading roles.
