She was last seen in the comedy film ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’, directed by Mudassar Aziz, where she shared screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, and Sara Ali Khan. Prior to this, she featured opposite Akshay Kumar in the horror-comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’.
Earlier this year in March, the actress also celebrated a major milestone – the one-year release anniversary of her fantasy romantic comedy, ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’. To mark the occasion, Wamiqa shared a unique clip on Instagram where she was dressed as a bride, traveling in an e-rickshaw, and cheerfully telling everyone on her way that it was her wedding day. Her caption for the anniversary read: “Ek saal pehle aap sab ne humari shaadi me shaamil hoke humko itna pyaar diya! Usske liye shukriya! Kuch BHOOL CHUK hogayi ho toh MAAF kardijiye ga.”
‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’, directed by Karan Sharma and backed by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner along with Amazon MGM Studios, boasted a stellar ensemble cast. Wamiqa starred alongside Rajkummar Rao, Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Raghubir Yadav, Ishtiyak Khan, Purnima Sharma, Anubha Fatehpuria, and Vineet Kumar. The film's intriguing plot follows Ranjan (played by Rajkummar), a small-town boy from Banaras who lands a government job so he can marry the love of his life, Titli (played by Wamiqa). The twist arrives when he ends up forgetting a crucial vow to Lord Shiva, trapping him in an endless time loop.
