Tiger Shroff attack timeline explained.

A Sunday evening football outing turned into a frightening ordeal for Tiger Shroff when gunmen opened fire at his car in Mumbai on October 18, 2026. Within hours, the incident had prompted a hospital dash, a police manhunt, visits from friends and Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, and an unverified claim of responsibility invoking the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. By late morning on October 19, three suspects had been caught in Rajasthan’s Kota.

Tiger Shroff suffered no gunshot wound, according to police. Eknath Shinde subsequently reported injuries from gunpowder and broken glass. Here is how the incident and investigation unfolded, including the visitors, eyewitness accounts and public responses.

1. October 18, Before The Shooting: Football, Fans And A Children’s Party

Tiger Shroff had been playing football near Pushpa Narsee Park in the Juhu–Vile Parle area, part of a familiar Sunday routine. According to The Indian Express, the 18-player match included Aparshakti Khurana, Abhimanyu Dassani, Caesar Gonsalves, Abhishek Bajaj and Karan Veer Mehra. Producer Bunty Walia also played. Children were celebrating a birthday nearby, fireworks were going off, and fans had gathered to photograph the celebrities. That busy setting helps explain the initial confusion when shots rang out.

2. Around 7 PM: Gunmen Target Tiger’s BMW

Police placed the attack at approximately 7 pm, as Tiger was leaving after the football session. Three attackers allegedly arrived on a motorcycle; available footage and reports described two approaching the car while a third remained with the getaway bike. Shots were directed towards the vehicle’s front and side before the attackers fled. The shooting took place within Juhu police station’s jurisdiction, on a road where people had gathered around the actor’s car.

3. Moments Later: Witnesses Describe Panic And Confusion

Karan Veer Mehra, whose car was behind Tiger’s, told NDTV that he saw blood spots and learnt that the driver had been shot. Importantly, he said he did not see the attackers. He described children running in panic and explained that the sounds were initially confused with fireworks.

Vlogger Salma Shaikh, who had been filming celebrities, similarly told ANI that people first thought they were hearing firecrackers. Another eyewitness, Shah Rukh Shaikh, told PTI that Tiger changed seats after his driver was hit and drove away himself. Autorickshaw driver Rakesh Kumar also told ANI that the men had positioned themselves near the gate and ahead of the vehicle before firing.

4. Immediate Aftermath: Tiger Takes The Wheel And The Injured Reach Hospital

Footage circulating after the attack showed Tiger taking the driver’s seat. The Indian Express reported that he drove his injured driver to Nanavati Hospital, while the second injured man was taken to Cooper Hospital by bystanders. Police identified the two injured people as the actor’s driver and Umesh Chavan, who was near the vehicle. The media portals reported a hand injury to the driver and a chest injury to Chavan, with both described by police as out of danger. A later TOI report said the second injured man was stable but required surgery.

An IANS report based on the complaint identified the driver as 47-year-old Firdos Ibrahim Baloch, a caretaker of 28 years who also drove for Tiger when required. TOI separately reported that the driver had briefly tried to pursue the attackers despite his injury, and that initial medical assessments suggested he might need surgery. Abhishek Bajaj later visited Nanavati Hospital, and the driver’s mother also arrived there.

5. Sunday Evening: Police Secure The Scene And Form Investigation Teams

Police and forensic personnel reached the location, collected evidence and began examining CCTV footage and witness accounts. DCP Mohit Kumar Garg confirmed that Tiger had not sustained a gunshot injury and that two other people had been injured. Joint Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Manoj Sharma, was among the senior officers involved in the initial response. The investigation expanded to 15 police teams, covering the shooting and possible escape routes.

6. Sunday Night: A Purported Gang Claim Adds Another Line Of Inquiry

A social media message and audio attributed to Anil Pandit, invoking Harman Sandhu and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility. The message alleged that Tiger had ignored warnings concerning work with Salman Khan and threatened others in the film industry. Police began examining the material, but the claim’s authenticity and the gang’s role had not been established in the latest police-attributed reporting.

That distinction is especially important because the alleged prior warnings were not independently established. An officer told The Indian Express that there was no complaint on record from Tiger about previous threat calls. TOI also reported an accompanying audio message demanding an apology from Salman to Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community, alongside threats to Khan and his family; police were examining that material too.

7. Later That Night: Tiger Returns Home Under Police Protection

Tiger Shroff subsequently returned to his residence in a police vehicle under police escort. Video showed him keeping his head lowered and covering his face as he arrived.

Disha Patani was seen arriving at his residence, and his sister Krishna Shroff also reached the house. His mother Ayesha Shroff was present during the subsequent meeting with Eknath Shinde. Meanwhile, Jackie Shroff’s team reassured India Today that Tiger was okay.

8. Late Sunday Night: Eknath Shinde Visits And Explains The Bandages

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Tiger’s home, met the family and assured them of support. Photographs showed the actor with a bandaged arm and dressings on his shoulder and chest. Eknath Shinde told reporters that gunpowder and broken glass had caused injuries and that Tiger and his mother were shaken. This supplied important context to the earlier police statement that the actor had suffered no gunshot wound.

Eknath Shinde condemned the attack, said intimidation would not be tolerated and promised action against criminal networks. He also urged people facing threats to inform police. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to Tiger over the phone, contacted Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti and directed a swift investigation.

9. Overnight: CCTV And Abandoned Motorcycle Help Reconstruct The Escape

Investigators obtained CCTV images of suspected attackers and recovered the motorcycle allegedly used in the shooting near Andheri West railway station. A later Indian Express reconstruction said the men rode nearly 4 km, passing busy junctions near Mithibai College, SV Road and the Andheri east–west flyover. The bike was reportedly found outside a police beat chowky around 9 pm and taken to DN Nagar police station.

Reports about the onward escape developed through the morning. Police examined railway footage and possible assistance to the suspects; later reporting traced their movement towards Borivali and out of Maharashtra. Investigators also suspected surveillance of Tiger’s regular Sunday routine.

10. October 19 Morning: Ayesha Offers Reassurance; Ravie Dubey Visits

Asked about her son’s condition, Ayesha Shroff gave a thumbs-up and said, “God is great.” Her brief response conveyed relief after the previous evening’s scare. It came as photographs of Tiger’s bandages and reports about the two injured men continued to circulate.

Actor Ravie Dubey, who lives in the same building, also visited the residence. Speaking to NDTV, he called the incident a “major security lapse”, expressed relief over Tiger’s safety and wished the injured driver a recovery. He said he had not yet spoken to Tiger and hoped the perpetrators would be caught quickly to reassure residents and the family.

11. Monday Morning: An Attempt-To-Murder Case And Further Details Emerge

Juhu police registered an attempt-to-murder case against three initially unidentified people. Reporting cited Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, alongside provisions of the Arms Act; The Times of India specified Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act. PTI reported that the investigation had been handed to the Mumbai Crime Branch. Police also recorded the injured driver’s statement.

A later IANS report describing the FIR and investigative findings said seven rounds were fired, five hit the vehicle, and a weapon allegedly jammed during a close-range attempt to fire at Tiger. It also reported that the suspects may have waited near the park for approximately 45 minutes. Earlier police-attributed reports had described five rounds; the later seven-fired.

12. Monday Morning: What Tiger Reportedly Told Shinde

NDTV, citing people familiar with the conversation, reported that Tiger told Shinde he had received no prior threat and had no known animosity with anyone. According to those sources, he was bewildered by the attack and did not understand the alleged connection being drawn to Salman Khan or the Bishnoi gang.

The same report said Tiger usually stopped for photographs after football but had skipped the customary session because he was tired. Earlier footage showed him playing and interacting with people around the outing. NDTV also reported plans for personal security and stronger protection at his home.

13. Monday Morning: Fadnavis Promises Action As Opposition Leaders Demand Answers

At his morning media interaction, Fadnavis said investigators had identified specific individuals and obtained leads, and promised action against both those directly involved and any handlers operating elsewhere. He said coordination with other states and the Centre would be used where necessary. Asked about securing Lawrence Bishnoi’s custody, he said a request had been sent and the legal process was underway. These remarks preceded the later reports of the Kota breakthrough.

The attack also triggered political criticism. Congress leader Sachin Sawant accused the state government of failing to maintain law and order, referring to earlier attacks and threats involving public figures. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut questioned Fadnavis’s handling of the Home portfolio and called for President’s Rule. Maharashtra minister Ashish Shelar had earlier confirmed speaking to the police commissioner and receiving assurances about Tiger’s safety.

14. Across Sunday Night And Monday: Film Personalities Express Shock

Ranvir Shorey condemned the firing and demanded stern action, while filmmaker Rahul Dholakia questioned accountability and the spread of fear through threats to the film industry. Poonam Pandey described being frightened by the attack and said it was difficult to comprehend violence against someone she associated with work, fitness and dancing. Actor Raj Premi also expressed concern, describing Tiger positively and recalling his professional association with Jackie Shroff.

On Monday, Shatrughan Sinha expressed relief that Tiger had escaped a gunshot injury, concern for the driver and alarm at the attack. Mika Singh posted a video praying for Tiger’s safety and appealed for serious government action, questioning what the incident meant for Mumbai’s reputation as a city where people could work late without fear.

15. Other Actors Call For Safety, Recovery And Accountability

Speaking to ANI, Ahsaas Channa expressed relief that Tiger was safe but concern for his future security, while stressing that more information was needed before conclusions were drawn. Nishant Malkani said he would contact him. Amol Parashar described the fear such news creates for actors and their families and called for offenders to be caught and punished.

Apoorva Arora hoped for everyone’s safety and justice, Alam Khan expressed shock and wished the injured a recovery, and Riva Arora spoke about the fear and trauma such incidents cause. Meanwhile, football participant Abhishek Bajaj told News18 Showsha that they had been playing together before the incident and reassured viewers that Tiger was safe.

16. Film Workers’ Bodies Demand Protection And Wider Investigation

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) condemned the violence, sought protection for Tiger and his family, and called for a thorough, impartial investigation completed within a defined timeframe. It also referred to the earlier firing involving filmmaker Rohit Shetty and urged authorities to improve security for film-industry professionals.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) demanded action against the shooters and whoever ordered the attack, dismantling of any extortion network, adequate security for film personalities and their families, accountability for security failures and restoration of public confidence.

17. Late Monday Morning: Three Suspects Caught In Kota

The investigation’s biggest reported breakthrough came when three suspects were apprehended from a train at Kota railway station in Rajasthan. Reports described a joint operation involving the Rajasthan Anti-Gangster Task Force and Kota City Police, acting on information from Mumbai investigators. CCTV analysis helped trace their movements. NDTV reported that two were suspected hired assailants and the third was suspected of helping the escape.

Later reports identified two adults as 22-year-old Hritik Kumar, alias Roshan, a Bihar native living in Mumbai and working as a bike-taxi rider, and 18-year-old Rehan from Sonipat, Haryana. The third suspect was reported to be a 17-year-old from Haryana. Their alleged roles and affiliations remain under investigation.

18. Where The Case Stands Now

As of the latest reports on October 19, Tiger had returned home, his driver and another man were receiving treatment, and three suspects had been caught. Security was also tightened outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments, with police personnel and vehicles seen deployed there.

The remaining questions concern who commissioned the attack, whether anyone helped plan or finance it, the authenticity of the claimed responsibility, and the final reconstruction from forensic and CCTV evidence. The Kota apprehensions are a significant development, but the investigation into the people behind the firing – and why Tiger was targeted – continues.
