Indian actress Shehnaaz Gill, who rose to fame with ‘Bigg Boss 13’, recently opened up about her emotional and personal growth since the show – especially how her late co-contestant and close friend Sidharth Shukla played a pivotal role in her journey. During a candid chat on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, the actress reflected on her transformation over the years, her views on relationships, and how her approach to life has evolved following Sidharth Shukla’s passing.

Shehnaaz Gill, who is currently promoting her upcoming film ‘Ikk Kudi’, was told that she was the “soul” of ‘Bigg Boss 13’. Reflecting on her old clips from the show, she admitted, “Many a times I get to see reels of Bigg Boss 13, and I think what have I become! Was I really like this? Now I have changed, changed a lot, and I have learnt a lot from life. Earlier, I was just a bindaas girl, I would say what came to my mind and now I have started to think. I think how happy this girl was. She was so happy and would react just as it is. That was a different person altogether.”

Speaking about Sidharth Shukla, her close friend and co-contestant, Shehnaaz revealed, “Mujhe maturity deke gaya he woh banda! Jab wo sab kuch hua, uske baad mein mature hui hoon. Nahi toh main wahi rehti Bigg Boss mein hi wahi hoon kisi duniya ki parvaah nahi kuch nahi.”

When asked about her relationship status, Shehnaaz kept things mysterious. “Let’s keep this a secret. You can’t give surety to any relationship, even marriage,” she said. The actress emphasised on keeping her personal life private, saying, “I won’t even show the faces of my kids when I will have them until they want to appear in front of the people.”

She also shared her unconventional views on marriage and compatibility, stating, “I don’t have the demand that I will only marry a Sikh guy. The guy can be Hindu, Muslim or anything, I will learn something from the guy’s culture.”

She added, “I guarantee that I won’t marry a Punjabi because I know this psychologically. I know this because I think I won’t have compatibility with a Punjabi guy. Maybe because I know about my culture and I want to marry into a different culture. I want to experience something different.”

“I don’t think my energies will match with a Punjabi. We both will fight and swear at each other and I don’t want that. Also, Punjabi guys are very controlling and I am myself a controlling person. They are also very truthful and honest, and I am the same. I don’t want a controlling guy,” she added.

When asked if she’d ever consider marrying a cricketer, Shehnaaz laughed, “Haan kar sakte hu. It will be interesting, but will he stay loyal? Ghoomte bahut hai ye log. I feel cricketers have so many girls around them, how will they stay with only one girl?”

Sidharth and Shehnaaz’s connection remains one of television’s most cherished stories. While they never confirmed being a couple, their chemistry captivated millions. After Sidharth’s death in 2021 due to cardiac arrest, Shehnaaz paid tribute through her song ‘Tu Yaheen Hai’ and an emotional performance on ‘Bigg Boss 15’, keeping his memory alive in the hearts of fans.
