Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s last directorial venture, ‘Animal’, has remained in the limelight ever since its release in December 2023. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Triptii Dimri, the 2023 Hindi movie was severely criticised for glorifying misogyny and toxic masculinity. However, it still managed to make over Rs 500 crore in India. ‘Animal’ also gave us some of the best tracks such as ‘Arjan Vailly’, ‘Satranga’, ‘Pehle Bhi Main’, ‘Hua Main’, and ‘Saari Duniya Jalaa Denge’.

Fans of the movie have been eagerly waiting for its sequel, ‘Animal Park’, which was announced at the end of ‘Animal’. Saurabh Sachdeva, who played Bobby Deol’s brother in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial, has now shared an update on the movie’s sequel.

Saurabh Sachdeva told News18 Showsha that they may have to wait a little longer for the sequel. The actor is set to reprise his role as Abid ul Haque for the sequel.

The Indian actor said, “I have no idea (when the film will take off). I have not had a chat with the production or director. Sandeep Reddy Vanga said ‘Abhi toh time hai, I’m making the other film (Prabhas’ Spirit). And Ranbir is doing Ramayana so usmein bahut time lagega. It is going to take time — it could be 2026, it could be 2027, I have no idea.”

Saurabh Sachdeva added, “I don’t even know the story yet, I don’t know if he’s written it or if it is in his mind, or even have a rough structure of it, I have no idea.”

While fans will have to wait to see Saurabh Sachdeva in ‘Animal Park’, the actor will soon be seen in ‘Bad Cop’. In the Disney+ Hotstar series, Saurabh Sachdeva will be seen investigating the murder of his close friend.

The actor said that there were two factors that led him to signing the project. He said that he wanted to work with Gulshan Devaiah and Harleen Sethi. Another reason was that he was getting to play a role that wasn’t negative.

Saurabh Sachdeva added, “My challenge was to connect with these circumstances which were happening in the story. There wasn’t any relationship to hold on to in this series. So I am just holding on to this case which was difficult for me. Obviously action was (also difficult). I did get hurt as well.”

‘Bad Cop’ will also star Anurag Kashyap. The series will release on Disney+ Hotstar on June 21.
