'Shaktimaan' and 'Mahabharat' actor Mukesh Khanna is furious with Bollywood actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and Tiger Shroff endorsing tobacco products, and in the latest entertainment news, Mukesh Khanna has lashed out at SRK, Akshay and Ajay for their involvement in such advertisements. For the unversed, back in 2022, Akshay Kumar had faced severe backlash for endorsing a pan masala brand, and this scrutiny led to the actor issuing a public apology. Akshay Kumar also announced his decision to step down as the brand ambassador.

Now, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Mukesh Khanna did not mince his words, as he called for stern action against these actors.

"If you ask me, I’d say, inko pakad ke maarna chaahiye," said Mukesh Khanna.

Mukesh Khanna also revealed that he scolded Akshay Kumar personally, despite the actor's health-conscious image.

“I have told this to them. Maine toh Akshay Kumar ko daanta bhi. Health conscious aadmi hai aur kehta hai aadaab. Ajay Devgn bhi kehta hai aadaab aur ab toh Shah Rukh Khan bhi shuru hogaya. Crores of rupees are spent on making these ads. Aap kya sikha rahe ho logon ko? (They say) we are not selling pan-masala, they say it’s supari. But they know what they are doing,” said Mukesh Khanna.

"When you do a Kingfisher ad, it means you are selling Kingfisher beer. Everybody knows it, it is called a ‘deceptive ad’. Why do they do these ads? Do they not have money? I have told them this, don’t do these things, you have a lot of money. Some actors have retrieved it, Akshay is one of them. If I am not wrong, Amitabh Bachchan has also moved away from it. But, to this date, crores of rupees are spent on making these ads… people are spraying colour on each other, (and saying) Kesariya jabaan. You are teaching people to consume gutka," he added.

For the unversed, earlier Akshay Kumar had issued an apology on social media, saying, "I am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi. With all humility, I step back."

"I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes," he added.

Recently, when Ajay Devgn was asked about these advertisements, he responded by saying, "It is a personal choice.”
