"Not Asked Me...": Gautam Gambhir Calls Shah Rukh Khan "Best Owner" He Has Worked With
KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir has shared how co-owner Shah Rukh Khan maintains a hands-off approach while dealing with the IPL franchise.
Recently, a video went viral on social media in which Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka was seen publicly showing displeasure with his franchise's captain KL Rahul, following the loss against SunRisers Hyderabad in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Ever since this incident, fans have been debating how the owners should conduct themselves. In the latest entertainment news, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor Gautam Gambhir has shared how co-owner Shah Rukh Khan maintains a hands-off approach while dealing with the IPL franchise.
Appearing on cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin's YouTube channel, Gautam Gambhir shared how he has never had a cricket conversation with SRK. He also labelled the Bollywood superstar as the "best owner" he has worked with.
"SRK is the best owner I have worked with. In the seven years of me captaining, we had not spoken 70 seconds about cricket. He had never asked me a single question on cricket in those seven years. Can you imagine?" said Gambhir.
"Since I have come, 20 days we haven’t spoken about cricket. We don’t talk about cricket. The first thing he told me in 2011 when I met him for the first time he said, ‘I don’t like anybody telling me how acting needs to be done," he added.
Speaking further about it, Gambhir said, "I am sure you will not like someone telling you how cricket needs to be played’. I said, ‘Absolutely’. And that was the only conversation I had with him. In the last 20 days, he has not asked me what team are we playing or what is the strategy.”

For the unversed, Gautam Gambhir has changed the fortunes of KKR ever since returning to the franchise as a mentor.
KKR finished at the top of the points table after the group stage, and the side will now take on SunRisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 1.
The Qualifier 1 will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM IST.
Shah Rukh Khan is expected to attend the match in Ahmedabad later today.
