Did Varun Dhawan Misbehave With Kiara Advani, Alia Bhatt During Events? Actor Breaks Silence
Varun Dhawan has responded to allegations of crossing the line while interacting with female co-stars such as Alia Bhatt and Kiara Advani.
Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film 'Baby John', which is set to hit the theatres on December 25, 2024. Ahead of the film's release, Varun Dhawan has been actively promoting the Kalees directorial. Now, Varun Dhawan has responded to allegations of crossing the line while interacting with female co-stars such as Alia Bhatt and Kiara Advani. For the unversed, several videos of Varun Dhawan had went viral on the internet, in which he was seen seemingly planting an impromptu kiss on Kiara Advani's cheeks.
Another clip showed Varun Dhawan touching Alia Bhatt's belly during a live event. Certain netizens believed that Varun Dhawan behaved inappropriately with his female co-stars.
Varun Dhawan has now cleared the air regarding these allegations. While appearing on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Varun said, "Chhedam-chhaadi, if it is done in a happy space, a good space, whether it is a man or a woman… I have fun with my male co-stars as well, but nobody mentions that.”
When asked about the Kiara Advani incident, Varun Dhawan said, "I’m glad you asked me this. It was planned. Both Kiara and I posted that clip. It was for a digital cover, and they wanted some movement and action, so we planned that.”
When the host pointed out that Kiara looked taken aback by the kiss, Varun said, “She’s a good actress. It was completely planned. I’ll admit when things weren’t planned.”
Varun Dhawan then further stated that there was a time when he playfully tried to push Kiara Advani into a pool and how that incident was not planned.
During an event, Varun had grabbed Kiara by the waist and almost shoved her into a pool. Kiara was then heard saying, "Stop it, ya.”
Reacting to that incident, Varun said, "That I did on purpose. It was all in good fun. It wasn’t planned. That’s just my nature, I guess.”
Shifting attention to the Alia Bhatt incident, Varun further said, "I did it in fun. It wasn’t flirting. We’re friends."
Coming back to 'Baby John', the Kalees directorial also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Keerthy Suresh and Jackie Shroff. The movie is backed by 'Jawan' fame director Atlee Kumar.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the Hindi film has so far sold 49,557 tickets for the opening day, grossing Rs 1.46 crore.
When one talks about national cinema chains, quite surprisingly, Hollywood film 'Mufasa: The Lion King' is outperforming 'Baby John'. It is important to state that Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu have lent their voices to the Hindi and Telugu versions of the 'Mufasa: The Lion King'.
