Watch: ‘Border 2’ Teaser Drops On Vijay Diwas; Film To Release On Republic Day 2026
The highly anticipated teaser of ‘Border 2’ is finally here, and it promises to be a powerful tribute to the 1971 war heroes.
The wait is finally over! On the historic occasion of Vijay Diwas – commemorating India’s victory in the 1971 war – the makers of ‘Border 2’ have dropped the much-awaited teaser, and it is nothing short of explosive. 28 years after J.P. Dutta redefined the war genre with the cult classic ‘Border’, the sequel has arrived with a promise: this time, the war isn't just on land – it's everywhere.
Check out the teaser of ‘Border 2’ here:
The teaser opens with a chilling voiceover by the man himself, Sunny Deol, who returns to the battlefield with the same ferocity that made Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri a household name. His voice thunders against visuals of impending doom: “Tum jahan se bhi ghusne ki koshish karoge – aasman se, zameen se, samundar se – samne ek Hindustani fauji khada paoge.”
This dialogue sets the tone for a film that has significantly expanded its scope. While the original focused on the Battle of Longewala, ‘Border 2’ seems to cover the entire spectrum of the 1971 Indo-Pak war. We see breathtaking shots of the Srinagar IAF Base and the North Arabian Sea, confirming that the film will feature a tri-service operation.
The teaser gives us our first electrifying look at the new recruits joining Major Kuldeep's battalion. Diljit Dosanjh looks fierce as an Indian Air Force pilot, seen walking with swagger near fighter jets and later in a high-octane dogfight sequence.
Varun Dhawan is seen in the thick of the action on the ground, manning a heavy machine gun and screaming in the heat of battle. Ahan Shetty represents the Indian Navy, looking intense in uniform on a warship under attack.
However, the highlight of the teaser – the moment that is already trending across social media – comes at the very end. Amidst chaos and fire, Sunny Deol turns to his troops and roars, “Awaaz kahan tak jaani chahiye?” The collective roar of the soldiers back to him is spine-chilling: “Lahore tak!”
This single dialogue callback to the aggressive stance of the 1971 war has sent fans into a frenzy, evoking the same patriotic fervour that ‘Sandese Aate Hai’ did decades ago. The background score, featuring aggressive chants of “Hindustan,” amplifies the tension, promising a cinematic spectacle that will tug at heartstrings while delivering adrenaline-pumping action.
Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by the original showman J.P. Dutta alongside Bhushan Kumar, ‘Border 2’ is slated for a theatrical release on January 23, 2026, perfectly timed for the Republic Day weekend.
If the teaser is anything to go by, ‘Border 2’ isn't just a movie; it’s gearing up to be an emotion. Get your camouflage ready – the soldiers are returning to the border!
