Amid 'Sarfira' Release, Akshay Kumar Says "People Love" Seeing His Movies Fail At Box Office
Akshay Kumar made a shocking statement, saying certain people in the industry feel good when his movies don't do well.
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is going through a lean run as his past few films have not delivered the desired results at the box office. In the latest entertainment news, Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira' has released in cinemas today, and it needs to be seen whether the film emerges as a box office hit or not. The initial reception to the film has turned out to be good and several netizens are calling it as the "best film of Akshay Kumar's career." Recently, Akshay Kumar gave an interview to film journalist Bharadwaj Rangan, and it was then that he made a shocking statement, saying certain people in the industry feel good when his movies don't do well.
"Yeah, it (scrutiny) is there. People love seeing it when 4-5 films don't work?"
Hearing this, Bharadwaj Rangan said, "People love it. What does that mean?
"People love seeing it. I have seen it myself. People are happy ki mera yeh picture nahi chala, other people are happy. Main aapko ek chota sa kissa sunata hu, I wouldn't name the channel. So I was walking recently on the red carpet, lot of channels were there, ek channel wale ne mere uppar mic rakha aur pucha, 'Akshay ji aapki last 4 filmein nahi chali, aapko kaisa lag raha hai?"

Coming back to 'Sarfira', the film also stars Paresh Rawal, Radhikka Madan, and Seema Biswas in key roles. The film is written by Sudha and Shalini Ushadevi, with dialogues penned by Pooja Tolani.
'Sarfira' has been directed by National Award-winning director Sudha Kongara. The upcoming Hindi movie has been bankrolled by Aruna Bhatia (Cape of Good Films), South superstars Suriya and Jyotika (2D Entertainment) and Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment).
The upcoming Hindi film is a remake of Suriya's smash-hit 'Soorarai Pottru'. Earlier, the film's trailer had become the most-watched Hindi trailer of 2024.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar has several movies lined up. After 'Sarfira', Akshay Kumar will be seen in 'Khel Khel Mein', 'Sky Force', 'Welcome to the Jungle', 'Jolly LLB 3', 'Shankara', and 'Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat'.
