'Ae Watan Mere Watan', which has been backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions released on Prime Video on Thursday, March 21, and the reviews have started pouring in for the new Hindi movie. The critics have given their verdict and they are not impressed with either 'Ae Watan Mere Watan' or Sara Ali Khan's performance

However, there have quite a few occasions where critics have not warmed up to the film, but audiences lap up the content like no one's business.

'Ae Watan Mere Watan', though, is the rare occasion where fans are also echoing the sentiment of majority of the film critics. The netizens are not impressed with Sara Ali Khan's performance and they are making their voices heard on social media.

Here are some of the other comments:

"When i saw the trailer. I knew the role was tailor made for sanya malhotra. She would have killed it," wrote one user.

"Pehle role ke liye suitable actor dhunda karte the, ab actors ke liye suitable roles dhundo," commented another user.

Another user commented, "Its high time she should find some niche like small town girl roles like Kedarnath. ZHZB etc similar ways how Ananya has found her niche playing urban characters."

"She is a bad actor. Was somehow okay in kedarnath but messed up atrangi re, another small town character," wrote one user.

"She was very bad in atrangi re. She is good and convincing when it comes to light-hearted banters but when a serious scene comes along, she falls flat. Her crying scenes are unbearable to watch and the directors are clearly not being honest to her about her performance. The only good scene in atrangi re is when dhanush speaks in Tamil and confesses to her. The whole movie is otherwise garbage," wrote one user.

"She just can't act. Sorry. Even in Murder Mubarak, she was awkward at best, and when the moment came to deliver in the end, raita phela diya bhen ne," commented one user.

Speaking of 'Ae Watan Mere Watan', the film is about India's struggle for freedom in 1942. The movie is also based on the life of Usha Mehta, a young girl who starts an underground radio station to spread the message of unity, during the Quit India Movement.
