Laxmi runs away to Bombay, where she finds shelter and care with a blind beggar named Anwar. When Laxmi and Anwar unexpectedly win a lottery, greed takes over; greedy relatives, Mahesh, and a courtesan (Girja) attempt to manipulate and trick Laxmi to steal the winning ticket.
