Synopsis
The story follows ACP Ashok Saxena (Shatrughan Sinha), an honest police officer who lives with his wife, Shobha (Hema Malini), and his younger brother, Rajesh (Mithun Chakraborty), whom he wishes to see become a police officer.
Ashok becomes a target for criminals, including Dhanraj Patwardhan (Prem Chopra) and Sippy (Shakti Kapoor), after he initiates a raid and cracks down on their drug trafficking operation. The criminals, conspiring with a corrupt mentor, Narayan Rao (Chandrakant Gokhale), create a trap to ruin Ashok.
They exploit Rajesh, who is looking for a job to satisfy the wealthy father of his love interest, Renu (Anita Raj). Using Rajesh to unknowingly deliver drugs, the criminals ensure that Ashok is arrested for drug trafficking and placed behind bars. The film then revolves around how the imprisoned, honest officer, and his brother manage to break the network and prove their innocence.

Production Trouble: The film was initially titled Samna and featured Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha, Mithun Chakraborty, and Anita Raj. Following Sanjeev Kumar's sudden death, the film was re-shot with Shatrughan Sinha and Hema Malini replacing the original leads.
