A humanoid alien lands in Rajasthan on a research mission and immediately has his spaceship's remote control stolen. Because of his curious behavior and child-like questions about people's habits, locals assume he is drunk and call him "PK".
In his desperate search for the remote, PK begins questioning organized religion, superstitious rituals, and self-proclaimed religious "managers". He crosses paths with Jaggu, a television reporter, who helps him expose a fraudulent godman named Tapasvi Maharaj on live television. After recovering his device and clearing up a personal heartbreak for Jaggu, PK successfully summons his spaceship and returns to his home planet.
