SYNOPSIS

Naya Kadam is a 1984 Hindi-language drama directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, starring Rajesh Khanna, Jaya Prada, Sridevi, and Padmini Kolhapure. The story follows a young man who secretly educates himself and returns to fight back against oppressive, tyrannical leaders who maintain power by keeping the local villagers illiterate.

Synopsis
In a small community ruled by the tyrannical and Hitler-like figures Madhukar and Jaggu, the villagers are kept illiterate to ensure they can be easily manipulated and abused. A young man named Ramu secretly educates himself with the help of a local schoolmaster. Years later, Ramu returns as an empowered, formidable figure fighting for the poor. Threatened by his knowledge, the corrupt oppressors spin a web of lies and deceit to neutralize Ramu, leaving the villagers vulnerable once again.
