Osthe (2011) is an Indian Tamil-language masala action-comedy film directed by Dharani. It is the official Tamil remake of the blockbuster 2010 Hindi film Dabangg.

Synopsis
The story is set in a village near Tirunelveli and revolves around Osthe Velan, a fearless, unorthodox, and somewhat corrupt police inspector. Velan shares a deeply troubled relationship with his stepfather and his half-brother, Balan, feeling constantly neglected since childhood. As an adult, Velan intercepts a bank robbery and keeps the stolen cash for himself to fund his own police station upgrades.

The core conflict escalates when Velan crosses paths with Boxer Daniel, a ruthless local thug with intense political ambitions. Realising the severe fracture within Velan's family, Daniel maliciously exploits the hostility between the stepbrothers to tear the family apart and destroy Velan. Amidst the chaos, Velan falls in love with a bold village girl named Neduvaali, while trying to protect his mother and ultimately patch up his broken family.
