"Very Unfair For Us...": Allu Arjun Weighs In On Bollywood vs South Debate
'Pushpa' star Allu Arjun has weighed in on the Bollywood vs South debate. Here's what he had to say.
Ever since regional films like 'Pushpa: The Rise', 'Baahubali', 'Kantara', and 'KGF' tasted pan-India success, there has been a huge debate regarding South cinema vs Bollywood. Fans of both film industries more often than not take potshots at each other, and there is always a huge debate regarding which industry produces better movies. In the latest entertainment news, 'Pushpa' star Allu Arjun has weighed in on this particular debate. A video is going viral, in which Allu Arjun can be seen praising Bollywood, saying you cannot put down Hindi cinema, just because they had a small "bad phase."
"Just because they had a small bad phase, it is very unfair for us to put Bollywood in a bad light. They have given us great cinema for 6-7 decades," said Allu Arjun.
"There is a lot of influence of Bollywood on South cinema and South cinema's influence on Bollywood as well. We are all like brothers who have mutual respect for each other from different lands," he added.

Earlier, Rashmika Mandanna had also opened up on the North vs South film industry debate.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Rashmika said, "I think it’s about time that we start calling out the industry as the Indian film industry because we are all in the entertainment industry, and we are all one country. And it’s high time that we start acknowledging that all the industries in our country are the same. We are all here to do some mad, cool films and tell some really cool stories.”
“I love the fact that the barriers are going down, and people are working together in different industries and different languages despite where they belong. I’m really happy that I’m part of the change as well," she added.
Speaking of Rashmika Mandanna and Allu Arjun, their much-anticipated 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' is slated to release in cinemas this year.
As of now, the film is slated to release in cinemas on August 15, 2024. The film will be clashing against Rohit Shetty's 'Singham Again', which stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor.
