The much-awaited fourth episode of the second season of 'House of the Dragon' is out now on JioCinema. The 54-minute long 'A Dance of Dragons' is a power-packed episode, and we have much to unpack in this article. Before getting right to business, we must give you a spoiler alert. This article will be filled with details about the fourth episode of the second season, and if you are yet to watch it, then please refrain from reading further. Now that the statutory warning is done, let's get into the details of the latest episode of 'House of the Dragon'.

The episode sees an army led by Ser Criston Cole (Fabian Frankel) making an appearance at Rook's Rest. It is then that Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) offers to fly with her dragon Meleys on behalf of her daughter-in-law Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), who is the leader of the so-called Black faction.

However, things don't go according to plan as she’s ambushed by Prince Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) of Team Green. Aemond is also joined at the last minute by his sibling King Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney).

However, victory is achieved by no one as while riding Vhagar, the oldest and largest dragon alive, Aemond manages to take down Rhaenys and assume control of the castle. He also manages to take the chance to finally act on his longstanding resentment of the weak, incompetent brother Aegon. It is then that he reduces his brother — and his dragon Sunfyre — to a pile of smoking ash.

It is safe to assume that the 53-minute episode also concludes the tragic arc of Rhaenys, a woman who had begun the series getting passed over for the Iron Throne in favor of her cousin and Rhaenyra’s father Viserys (Paddy Considine).

As far as Aegon is concerned, towards the end of the episode, Cole after recovering from being knocked out, stumbles into a forest to find Aemond standing over Aegon's body. Cole's arrival, however, clearly makes Aemond rethink what he is about to do.

However, from the books, we know that Aegon manages to survive the Battle of Rook's Rest.

In the episode, Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) also returns to Dragonstone to her own Council of Malcontents. It is there that her son Jace (Harry Collett) says that he is angry with her unexplained absence. However, he is left shocked by her admission that she went to King’s Landing to meet with Alicent (Olivia Cooke) without telling anyone.

Earlier, King Aegon, during a meeting of his Small Council, realised that Aemond and Ser Criston Cole (Fabian Frankel) have been managing the war effort without him.
